Yes you still must provide proof. What is his home country? It's usually faster to apply outland, and since he's a student in Canada, you have a long relationship and if you provide lots of proof there likely won't be an interview. Thus, there's really no reason to apply inland. He can live in Canada while the outland application is in process.

oh it's nuts ! My husband applied sp for me in August while I am studying as a graduate international student at Canada. I will graduate in Feb. however I got a job offer to start in Jan. To have post graduate work permit, I have to have graduation letter that I do not have ! I know that we made a mistake to apply outland. Now I wonder what I should do. If I apply inland asap, I will not get work permit till 4 months later. I am very frustrated. Not sure what I can do :(

Yikes, maybe your school would provide you with a graduation letter early. It still takes time to get that as well, I can't see how you'd have the permit in time either way.

Okay i had a chance to listen on on the message from IRCC minister...

here's a few notes Starting March 2017

-there will be only one application for inland and outland applications
- instead of numerous checklist, there will be one unified checklist.
- they are working to reducing processing time from average 24 months to 12 months,
if you have already applied prior to this date process will take 4 months.
- PR 2 year conditions will be removed
- Age of dependency will increase to 22 form 18
- Standards of medical, security and criminality back ground will stay the same
-they have received 25 million in funding to hire more agents to help with processing times.

It was really muffled but i hope i got the important notes.

hi you already posted this in another thread, and I feel there is some misleading information you are sharing.

specifically:
not sure where you're getting the march 2017 date from? when you fast forward a bit in the announcement, the sound becomes clearer when the minister himself talks. he specifically said this process starts "as of today" and everything will go live online December 15.

I also did not hear anything about processing being 4 months if you already applied before a certain date. he said they will be processed first in, first out, so those waiting longer will possibly get processed first.

I'd recommend people reading the information from cic themselves, there are many links provided in the thread specific to this announcement.

*** This is INCORRECT! McCallum did NOT say those who have an application in process will only take 4 months. Please refrain from spreading incorrect news. Thank you

Hello everyone, I am after helping with common law sponsorship, and more specifically the bridging visa required to get me from my current Working Holiday Visa to when my PR is accepted. The issue is with form IM5701E Application to change Conditions. Under 'Details of Intended work in Canada' they ask for your job, employer, and offer letter of employment. Currently I do temp work, meaning there is no letter of employment or employer sponsorship, so I don't know what to put in this section. Please let me know if I leave this blank, I fill in my current work or I am not eligible for the open work permit due to not having an offer letter. I believed the open work permit was the opposite of having an employer already lined up. Thank you! Kasey

no one can tell you this and no one can say for sure how this new process will unfold. the best you can do is go by the "trends" for your visa office on this website. we will find out how quickly things are processed as they are processed.
