this is really not necessary. there are multiple reasons people don't have this information or perhaps they don't understand the question. one possible reason is the person was a minor when they landed and are not sure of the answer. also, if you haven't noticed in your own process, IQ tends to drop multiple points when filling out the forms due to stress, anxiety and the sheer confusion that is CIC.
how about providing a response that is useful instead of judgemental?

the canadian visa office is usually the country of citizenship of the applicant. so if you are from the UK, it would be London, if you're from France, it would be Paris, etc...
thanks for the answer! forgot to check "Notify me of replies" so have not seen answers. And yes, i was a minor and my dad was the one inviting me to Canada.

Hi All,

I have applied for Sponsorship for my wife. She is currently working in India. I am planning to apply for her tourist visa before that.

She has no tourist history. So, We are planning to apply for US Tourist Visa before applying for Canadian Tourist Visa. I am planning a trip to US in December and want her to join me there and if she gets her Canadian tourist visa, she can come here as well.

Now my question is, what shall she answer US immigration officer when they ask her, "why she did not apply Canadian Tourist Visa before applying for US Visa?

Thanks

Hi Leon,
Once my spouse receives her landing papers and during the time she waits for her PR card in Canada, Can she exit Canada and enter back using her multiple entry open work permit visa stamped on her passport ?

Thanks to confirm.

Once she lands as a PR, her work permit will no longer be valid. If she requires a visa, then she will need to apply for a PRTD.

Are you saying the airport authority outside Canada will have it on their system saying that she is a landed immigrant and waiting for her PR ?
Cause till this time the work permit multiple entry visa is still valid on the passport.

What do you mean she is waiting for her PR? Is she waiting for her COPR so she can land? Or has she already landed as a PR and is waiting for her PR card?

When you land, the immigration officer is supposed to cancel all visas.

hey guys i have a question. in the spousal sponsorship application, the application asks for a complete history of spouse. My spouse was in canada a couple years ago, had her study permit expired and so had to apply for restoration of status. so during the time that she was waiting for the "restoration of status" do i put her status in canada as "implied status" or "out of status"?

Hello all,

Hope someone can answer my question:
I (PR) am gathering documents to sponsor my husband in-land. We've been together for 4 years and lived together for over 2.5years (since Dec 2013). We recently got married in Canada in June, 2016. Should we mention on the applications that we were previously in a common-law relationship with each other? But no longer in common-law relationship due to marriage?

Many thanks in advance! :)
