You can bring in as much as you want (DUTY FREE) if you´re landing as a new immigrant. That´s your right as a new PR. But you must declare everything on your "goods" list at the time of arrival for landing.

Keep in mind that you can also send the rest of your belongings later, such as by ship at a cheaper pallet rate. But you must list those items on your "goods to follow" list also at the time of landing.

But airlines usually allow 2 pieces of 23-kg luggage for each passenger (or first-time immigrant). You should better check with the airlines how much they charge for excess (per kg) and if there is a maximum for excess baggage (for every passenger).

I am Paki National living in UAE, I assumed that LVO applications process 12 to 13 months it seems good.

I am waiting for SA and dont know which visa office CPC will assigned for me LVO or ADVO... ;D

If you are pakistani national then LVO is for you.

Yeah but some cases of Paki Nationals they forwarded to ADVO and I am in gulf since last 9 years let see which visa office they will assigned for me..

hows over all process ratio of LVO? are they dealing well with paki national applications?

Hey Guys!
I'd recieved a letter from LDNimmigration. As per their requirements in the letter, I sent them Urdu Nikah Nama, pics and communication evidences. The letter has been delivered to them. All these things happened in this month, July 2015.
So anyone can please tell,
Do they give response, if yes, how long it'll take.

yes they are. 12-14 months is average time

NO not yet i am also waiting for interview date.. I am aug 2013 case.
There is one member who got letter for interview but he did not mention the details that on what date of october he is having interview? and did he get the mail or email? I am lookin forward for more response from his side. n waitingggggggggg n waitingggggg for my turn to receive interview letter.
Hopefully I will be in the next batch n will not have to wait for another quarter INSHA ALLAH

Sorry i didnt want to make u uncomfortable by the date I jus wanted to have an idea that interviews are in first week or last week of October. Actually we are already sooo exhausted that whenever we find some hope we ask too much n disturb others although we really didnt mean that but we are in the same boat so you can get this..

And all who are waiting for interview can finally know that interviews are in last week of september till first week of october as from previous interviews schedule we can have an idea that interviews are always in last week of a month and continues to first week of the very next month.
Please pray that we all are in this batch and get letter soon bcz cant wait for having interview in some other batch as already my case has completed 23 months.

Hoping for the best and good luck to all those who r waiting for getting an Interview Schedule

how does one obtain a clearance certificate {police}? Do you have to have a letter and must give it to the police station and only then they will issue it?

And about the first medical {upfront}...can I do it and still submit my application without having the results since they are forwarded to LVO?

But this shouldn't be the case..!! Isn't that a violation of human rights.? newspapers are filled with news about cats & dogs laws. But why is this not there.? I really feel dejected now, did everything I could left my wife after 20 days of marriage, made them aware of her pregnancy in every second email and they still delayed it without any apparent reason, she is a simple house wife living with in-laws didn't traveled anywhere before, what is it that they are looking in the security check? Can't they understand complexity on case by case basis.?

Hope INSHA ALLAH my workplace allows me to work from Pakistan, I will only come with my family to Canada now.

There are many sad stories. Of course, not long ago many Pakistani applicants were waiting 3 years or more to bring his/her respective spouse.
Personally, I see this as a violation of human rights! These problems arise from a government with a cynical attitude toward immigrants, especially by their nationality.
I hope the Party of Caucasians (PC Party) gets wiped this election and we have a government respectful of rights not just of immigrants, but even as Canadians.
It's a government with poor record on immigration policy, environmental policy, foreign policy and human rights.
I was born and raised here in Canada. Proud to be Canadian but not of this government.
I had to leave my wife and baby boy in Pakistan. I miss them every minute. But we can choose to live out of hope, promise and the pursuit of happiness or despair, depression and hopelessness.
Keep the positives and downplay the negatives. Insha'allah, I hope your wife has a happy healthy baby and you savor your time with your family.
