Fire this clown "lawyer". Where do you even find these people. This lawyer is at best an incompetent idiot and at worst, a scammer.

You have implied status as long your application is being processed, meaning you won't be kicked out. You probably can't travel with this implied status as there is no document to prove this status to carriers but you are legally allowed to stay until there is a decision on your application.
my lawyer is an idiot then. but I understood from immigration website that implied statues only granted if you applied for work permit and till decision is made you can have implied statues. but if no legal status exists and you will applied for PR doesn't matter you can have implied status? isn't this correct?

Hello everyone, I was silently following this thread for a long time and I have seen people worrying about when their medical request would come just like what I did, so here is my timeline:

Sent application: 2017 Aug 20
APR: 2017 OCT 13
Medical request: today 2018 MAR 20

Just to give you some idea when you can expect to have your medical request. Have a nice day and stay positive, stay lucky:)

Hi! I'm not sure what took so long. We were unable to link our OWP as well. Finally after waiting for months, at the end of January we did inquire with the CIC and they said everything in our application was in order. Within the week we were able to link our OWP and our application was updated online to in review and then approved.

Seems to me it our OWP may have been forgotten about, and the poking helped nudge the application along.

Hello everyone,

I am May 2017 applicant, I sent upfront medical which would have expired In December 2017. Does anyone know if they will ask for new medical? Its going on 10 months now and I have not heard anything from cic since I sent police report in June. Anyone in this situation?
Hey there! My upfront medical was expired September 2017 and they requested the new one 15Feb 2018,I passed it and no more news.I’m March 6 applicant and I guess I’m not lucky with that 80% processing in 12 month..Good luck

Is there is any one know about Health Insurance?

I applied in land in Aug 2017. Last year, I bought a package of health insurance for a visitor visa when I just got to Quebec. But now my husband's contract at work also covers my health insurance, so I just wonder if I still need to buy a package of health insurance like last year?

Wife has booked her medical but couldn't get in for 3 weeks (and only 1 place close by so had no choice), so more waiting lol

Cost is $175 for the medical, + whatever the cost the hospital charge for bloodwork + xray which is a few hundred I imagine![/QUOTE

thats also same situation i have now after i receive my med request i book to the nearest doctor and the soonest available is after 3 weeks im afraid coz it says in the letter i need to do the med within 30 days. what will i do?

check with other available panel physicians in your area. they maybe farther but may accommodate you sooner.

Well they say 30 days, so can't see why 3 weeks time would be a problem?

You are save, provided you have your medical within the 30 days.
