Spousal Sponsorship in-land Applications 2016 timeline and updates

It says the same in both sides that application has been received. Medical results have been received. In my side it only says application received. In sponsor's side it says in process in addition to application received.

This means they haven't even evaluated your sponsor yet. When they do, the sponsor side will show Decision Made. That's SA.

Usually after that, you will see In process on the PR side. When that switches to In process, that means you've passed AIP. Approval in Principal (AIP) is where they deem that you've met the eligibility requirements to apply under Family Class (and Spouse or Common Law Partner in Canada class). This is when you reach stage 2.

From that point, it can take minutes to 6 months to see a Decision Made on the PR side.

Stage 2 involves the medical, criminality, and security clearances. Usually Security, followed by medical are the things that slow this stage down.

I got police check on April 2017 my medicals requested October 2017 and when i Call it says review of eligibility haven't started yet ,medicals results were successful and we are doing your background check"
Does it mean, i am still on "Stage 1"??
Any chance to get a DM without SA or AIP?

Unlikely. They can do both stages within an hour, if it's all ready for the officer. Usually it's not, though.

AIP is when ECAS shows the PR side in process.

Even if you think it is, there might be just one, little, detail. They wouldn't send them back before (they would just ask for the paperwork later -- causing an additional delay).

I can say, in our case, a medical was the delay (because they didn't extend the previous one; and the closest PP was not able to schedule for 3 weeks). But, if you submit everything they ask for, the process is reasonable...

Should I pay the fees now or wait until they ask me for it?
