My wife as well. They are starting to branch into biometrics, but most from 2016 have been excluded. The chosen few I think we're for identity verification.

Biometrics is things like fingerprints.

CIC has been branching more and more into collecting these from those who apply for PRs.

Most of 2016 didn't get those fingerprint requests. Those who did were likely to make sure they didn't have a John Smith who they already knew (and had a criminal history).

don't you think this is unfair?
if you call to cic for your processing time is 26 months but for new it is 12 months.
then why they include me on the bio-metrics when I applied lot earlier then that.
they can't consider me in the 12 months slot as applied earlier, but they can include you in new stuffs which stopped your file processing.

for me NO, last 6 months I can see review of eligibility and checking background.

For me too, about 10 months and nothing... but I will say it's any-day better than 26 months that they claimed when we submitted our applications.

Not really unfair. It's in the T&C's on the form that you would have submitted. That they can ask for them.
