Hello everyone, I submitted my PR application and OWP on March 3 2016, and received AOR 1 in May and AOR 2 in June. However, I have not received the OWP yet nor my sponsor has received a sponsorship approval. The processing time for Work Permit paper application is 101 days and in my case, its roughly around 120 days now. So, I was wondering if any applicants from March and before are waiting for their work permit approvals.

Your inputs are much appreciated!

Thank you!

don't stress! This not an exact process.
our OWP was also more than 120 days.
you should be getting it soon anyway. 8)

Thank you again for your responses! Will get him to change licence. Just a thought though....

There is several things that make a sponsor inadmissible like having violent crimes committed or crimes against family also currently being in jail can stop you from being able to apply. I know that the sponsor signs the evaluation and the undertaking but i would think that they would have to run police checks to ensure that the person sponsoring has no criminal history along those lines.

Thanks again!
Good to note. It would not take long to run a police report here in Canada. Thank goodness.

104 days since we sent in our application. No OWP and no second AOR.

Call them and check the status. Mine hasn't come even after 5 months because they forgot to create a file for it.

Once it goes over 4 months, if you call the CIC helpline they will firstly check on the status, and secondly if not issued they will send a message to the dept stating it's beyond the 4 months...last one I read about on this thread did this and got it turned around in 48 hours from the phonecall. AK16 I find it hard to believe in your case they did not do a rush job for you, and as usual we just have to grin and bear it.

I called CIC today and they told us our OWP is still in process and that the four months will be up 23 July 2016. They also told me our sponsorship application is still in process.

Hi everybody! More updates!
I just received another message from CIC, stating that I, the applicant, am meeting the eligibility requirements to apply for permanent residence. I'm confused as to what that means, but also happy because, well, I was worried I had made a mistake in my paperwork. So I guess my application is in progress now?

whaaaaaaaaaat?

EDIT: CDNPR2014, thanks for the heads up but I didn't expect that for some reason at all. I had send them all my paperwork ahead of time, so I guess they must be checking it all now. Just paid the RFPR fee and am going back to patience mode. :)

i could be wrong, though from what i understand, the AIP letter states what you wrote - that you are eligible to apply for PR. i'd wait for others to confirm... i don't want to lead you to false hopes! when did you apply and what other communication have you/your sponsor received before this? could this also be language used in other correspondence?

I just read it again and I believe it is AIP - it states that now I can apply for work/study permit (which came with the AIP before the pilot program as I understand) and that they have to go through my medial and police checks (which I sent in with my application package). I applied Feb 19th 2016, and my husband just received SA last week. Everything is happening a lot faster than expected...

I saw people are getting their PR after 18months and now they are processing December 2014.

I know it's not fair on those behind us who benefit but not to the same extent, but I think if you are in the streamlining program and everyone at CIC is happy you can pretty much forget the 18 month timeline...my guess would be 6-8 months would be closer, based on the timelines being shown on the thread. (3 months for SA, and now 5 months for AIP).
