Hi all, was wondering if this has happened to anyone else. I got an update on my application saying it was transferred to a Canada Immigration Center in my city. Is this a good thing?

I would honestly like to thank those again like @profiler @sylvain1 @carolbb23 @browning911 and a lot of those moderators such as @scylla @Rob_TO etc who's cases have ended a long time ago but yet still participate in helping others on this forum. Information that would be costly anywhere else. Honestly, thank you all!
Congrats! Just curious - why was your Schedule A requested multiple times? Any advice on how to avoid that?

Oh sorry to read that. They are quite efficient in the Quebec office. We went twice for my wife (after CSQ, we thought she could register) and in both occasions, it took less than 15 minutes to talk to an agent.
it's done now though.i took a copy of the csq by mistake instead of the original so i couldnt complete at the office however they still opened the file and told me to bring the original at my closest clsc and finish the application there. i did and now i was told ill receive a letter in the mail in 2-3 weeks and would have my card in the mail in 2-3 months

Hi, this means that your case requires further investigation. Normally, when officers are uncertain about your relationship and cannot determine that you are in a genuine relationship or they suspect something that requires interviews with you and your spouse (sponsor), they will refer this to the local immigration center. Now the how fast you get your application processed depends on local immigration workload and how satisfied they will become after their assessment. Wish you all the best!!! This is very common. So don't be scared. If your relationship is genuine and have nothing to hide, then don't panic at all.

I just called CIC and talked to the agent.

As we all know, getting PR is all case by case and officer by officer.

I guess it is same thing with call agent as well.

She basically said I dont know, I cant tell you, your applicant will be done by 2018 September.

whenever I asked a question, she was telling me she does not have that details lol......

I argued by saying something like "Than all applicant after Dec 7 2016 will be processed with higher priority than older applicants?" her response was "yes sir" ............
that is horrible :(

hard not to get extremely frustrated by this whole process

I can't even get through to an agent, but I guess it is a waste of time anyways as you experienced

Hey buddy, can you let us know your immigration officer's initial stated in SA and AIP letter?
Just called CIC. any they are saying they are working on September 2016 files... wonder how your case is over..
The SA and AIP letter had no immigration officer's initial stated on it. Only reads:
Sincerely,

Case Processing Centre Mississauga

what is ECAS showing if you log in using the sponsor info? If you see decision made on both sides, it will mean that you are done. Otherwise, you might be called for a relationship interview. Did you get any other communication before?

what does it mean if it just says decision made on sponsor side?

that you have sponsor approval. But in your case, you also received a letter saying "that it was determined that you are eligible to apply...". I don't recall the exact wording, but that was your AIP. So far, you have SA (shown by decision made in ECAS, and the sponsor might have received a letter as well) and AIP (no change in ECAS, but you got the letter). So you are waiting for a decision made on the principal applicant side. The most likely is that they are waiting for security checks and as soon as they get them back, you will see decision made. Hard to give you a timeline, I know you have been waiting already for a long time, but it really can come back any day now.

neither side has DM. I didn't get any communication before. So yeah, probably an interview. Which is worst case scenario, since I can't get my work permit yet due to the fact I was just barely out of status when I applied for PR. This sucks.

I guess we shouldn't feel too bad then but at that rate we will be finished our PR at the end of 2018 :O

still no news here, we are April 2016 applicant waiting and waiting, still hoping to be done before the end of 2017 but seeing that post now I am feeling less hopeful :(
What is your country of origin?
