Hello guys
Did anyone had the interview and they asked them that their sponsor should be available on phone the same time??
How did that go ? Thanks
I read 3 different posts about people getting an email saying they had to be available in Canada by the phone for 3 hours from the interview starting in Rabat. One woman said they never ended up calling her, but her husband later received an email saying he passed the interview. Another woman said they called her and asked her questions about her husband (the same questions they asked her husband about her), but she forgot 1 of his jobs or degrees, and he said one of her children's name wrong or twice (I am not sure if anything else happened), but they ended up getting a rejection letter. Another woman said they called her just to confirm some of the answers her husband gave about her in the interview and they passed. I don't think they always call people even though they send the email - just if they have questions that they cannot confirm on the application and other proofs that were sent in. It could also be that they don't want the sponsor to show up at the interview - so they tell them they have to stay by the phone in Canada. They may be afraid the sponsor will cause a scene if their spouse comes out upset or saying they didn't pass the interview.

This is what I'm scared of. According to my GCMS notes I received this last Tuesday, they have set a deadline on his security check and background check for September 25th! I'm thinking they will do the interview around the same time or at least schedule it around that time. I will likely have to be available by phone for his interview but I fly to Ireland the evening of the 25th. I'm really hoping they don't plan an interview for any time during the 9 days I'm away but Murphy's Law... :( My husband also has a job with the airlines and has a crazy schedule so it will be hard for him to go to an interview in Rabat on short notice but I guess we'll have to cross that bridge when we get to it. :(

I am kind of worried as well because I am visiting my husband in Morocco in 2 days and not coming back until Oct. 3. If we get called for an interview I would like to go to support my husband - but if they say I have to stay by the phone - I am afraid they might be upset with us if I show up and it may affect the outcome of the interview.

It's so weird because yesterday, I was just talking to my wife about this very same subject. I haven't had an interview but I hear that the sponsor will be called and asked a series of questions. I believe the answers will be cross referenced with the principle applicants answers. Also most mixed marriages are asked to do an interview.

My wife has been speaking to some moroccan women who have went to the interview. Their husbands were called and asked questions. 2 of the couples passed and 1 received the rejection letter. She thinks that she was rejected because she answered a question incorrectly. If you have an interview coming up, I think it's best if you review the common questions they might ask.

Congrats. I know you have been waiting for a while. My advice is to go through the list of questions and just be prepared for any questions they may ask you or you husband. Don't be nervous, remember your relationship is real and genuine. All you have to do is show them this in the interview.

Wow, the notes really give you some good information on what they are doing. I'm not sure this is possible but if your away and they request the interview, can you send them an email to explain your situation at that moment?

I think that would be fine. It is solid proof you two are visiting each other during this whole process. That looks good for you. I think you'll be okay. :)

It is not just mixed couples that are asked to have an interview. I know of 3 Muslim couples that were asked to interview in Rabat.

I was worried about the same thing last month when I was in Morocco - its a double edged sword - if you are in Morocco and don't go to the interview they will say you are not supportive of one another, but if you do go and you were supposed to wait by the phone they could likely turn you down for not following their instructions. People told me to go to the interview and if they want to interview me they can do it there, but that is assuming they are reasonable, fair people - some seem to be on power trips. I heard they call you while your husband is still in the room - so if they don't have another interview room available and they don't want to send your husband out and let you in - are they supposed to call you in the waiting room in front of everybody? Its really a no-win situation.

It may be a good thing if they call you - I know of 2 sponsors that received the letter to stay by the phone, but they were never called - both were rejected as well. Maybe they only call if they are seriously thinking of approving you.
