I think some people misunderstand about processing times . Please see below :

If I apply today, will the processing times show how long it will take to finalize my application?

No. The processing times only show the time it took visa offices to approve or refuse 80 percent of applications during a specified period in the past. They may not accurately predict future processing times.

( From CIC Help Centre )
Thanks Sali_ouf...agree to what you said but i didnt had misunderstanding though.....when i applied the processing time was 12 moths...
and i have contacted them 12 months after i have applied...because they too mentioned in the website that they do not respond if i send query with in the stipulated time lines.
Obviously when i contact them i will go with generic timelines of what they defined and not the case specific....how would i know whether i fall in that 80% or not

You should count timeline base on an estimated 80% processing time, thats what it means, you should not contact them before timeline at the time (for now 23 months) , even though they will not reply to query anyway, my advice is... Just wait or order caips note if you really want to see how your case process...

Your case is not applied to either 12 or 23 momths, it depends on when your application comes in turn to process, officer will pick it out and work on it, at the moment, 23 months is just for reference, means, the speed of SGVO doing at the moment, it doens not apply to furture cases. I believe processing time will be reduce to 20 months when next update at end of this month.

Agree with Taivoi, it is high possibility visa offices around the world will reduce processing time, as here in Canada, Ottawa visa office is speeding up with applications. Applicants from August, September and October are being issued PR visas.

So just keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best, guys :)

I submitted my file on 8th Sept 2011.
30th April 2012 transfer to SGVO (KL Visa Office closed down)
18th July 2012 received AOR from SGVO

It means from 8th Sept 2011 till 30th April 2012 no one proceed my file in KL Visa Office. I'm quite frustrated when found out the truth. Now hope that SGVO can proceed my file quickly.

in ecas listed they received my application on 8th Sept 2011.
Hi Kidrobot. I think your AOR is Sept 8th 2011 ( not July 18th 2012). Any good news from SGVO? My AOR is Oct 27th 2011.

Hi Tavoi your AOR is before Inovel 3 months. Do you have any problems? do you contact SGVO to ask something?

My understanding that processing time of 23 months is applied to period 1st Jan to 31 Dec 2012. The previous period was 20 months

Hi steveheng71, still no news from SGVO. No matter is on Sept 08 2011 or July 18 2012, still the same, wait and wait and wait. How about you?

Good luck everyone!

Previous period is from Oct 1,2011 to Sep 30,2012 , If you are right then how about the cases reiceived from Jan to Sep 2012 : 20 or 23 months ?!
Time processing table is simply a statistic not a schedule.

i think your understanding might be wrong. i applied in Nov 2011 and it's gg to be 17 months. i dont see myself getting PR in 3 months time. I am not sure about getting medicals then also. seems like it's taking forever for sgvo.
