I applied for NB, province's quota just for nomination , it doesn't affect processing time at CIC. did you get Medical done yet?

Garu and all, as I told I had tb in past and got treated. My doc said I'm ok now. Yet, tb left its spot in lung. After my medical if they find spot in x-ray will they refuse my application?

Crs dont worry they will require you to undergo medication treatment and do a retest for xray..... I had a friend before but it turns out ok..... So yours should be fine. :)

I don't think a tb scar can be a ground for rejection as long as the doctor can certify that you are now healed. Pray and believe that everything will be ok with your medical.

Hi all, my DMP called me today and told me to undergo a sputum test. I asked him if I have active TB or not. He told me not to worry. People who got TB treatment earlier, usually need to take this test. To him, if I go for the test now, it will save at least one and a half month's delay of my processing. The report will be send after 8 weeks. So I can't submit my passport now and have to wait again. Don't know how long have to wait! :-[

Anyway, Taivoi, Quinny, Garu, Kaisin and others; any progress?

Hi all, although I am in Canada, i visit this thread once in a while coz I really wish all of you will get it processed faster and start preparing your new life. I know you make the decision due to many reasons but many people just want a good education and future for their children. For those of us who live in India, Pakistan, Philipines etc, it is a transition from a developing country environment to a more developped enviroment. However, I have a question regarding people who already have a good job in Singapore and their kids are enjoying good education at Singapore schools. To me, I think that Singapore is far superior than Canada, before I migrated I think Canada is a paradise, but I think this rosy picture was painted by immigration agents and firms that benefit from this immigration process. Let me tell you that life in Canada is much worst than Singapore. The salary in Canada is lower than Singapore in most professions but the tax is much higher. Usually an accountant with 5 years experience here can earn 30-40K a year (for immigrants), and after tax it come to 20-25K a year, which is barely enough to survive. Cost of living is very very high. Although medical is free the waiting time for non emergency treatments are years and years and no coverage for dental or eye treatments which are very expensive. The society is highly discriminated against immigrants and oversea qualifications are not recognized. Most immigrants work survival jobs for the rest of their life unless they go back to school. There are no career prospect for immigrants, we have to go back to school for many years and start from scratch again if we want to have a proper career in Canada. It takes 5 years to obtain Citizenship compared to 2-3 years in Singapore. I would suggest that those already have a jobs should not quit the job when you got the visa. Take a 2 weeks leave and go and see the first hand how Canada is before you make the final move!
