taivoi, probably because my case is still within their posted timeline which is 17 months. I'm sure we will all get there eventually... patience...patience...patience....

hopefully they will revise the processing time and shorten it,i think they review it every quarter. anyway i traced back some of the older threads. apparently, singapore visa office used to be pretty fast a couple of years ago, and people get their PR within half a year

My cousin has sponsored me and he himself went through same processing. Sgvo took only 8 months to finalize his application in 2008-09. Things changed now. I applied to register in englishonline stating that, I'm out of Canada . Having seen my loa, they send me two emails to contact them in Winnipeg. Even they are not trusting the fact that after one year I'm still in my home country. We're having tough luck guyes. Looking forward to a quick ending.

wonder if it's possible to apply at other visa office than the one selected for u. i kinda think that it's not the lack of manpower or backlogs that is delaying the entire process but deliberate slowing down to approve PR by the visa office itself

everyone seems tired of waiting , just wait then , hope good news will come soon to all of us.

The whole process is very slow now. People who applied for PNP nomination after June 2010 are still waiting for the nomination.

my friend just arrived in Manitoba today. It took 14 months to complete their PR and visa applications. I think they applied August 2010.

Hopefully ours will be coming out soon :D

And today I found this news from this website: abs-cbnnews.com/global-filipino/world/03/29/12/canada-scraps-nearly-300000-skilled-immigrant-applications

Canada scraps nearly 300,000 skilled immigrant applications

"OTTAWA - Canada plans to eliminate a backlog of stale immigration applications by skilled workers, in a potentially controversial move designed to enable immigrants whose skills are in greater current demand to enter the country faster."

Hopefully it will not affect our application in a bad way.

On my understanding, they only planned to return those applications filed before Feb 27, 2008 as quoted below:

Finance Minister Jim Flaherty said on Thursday that Canada now plans to return almost all of the 300,000 foreign skilled worker applications that were filed before February 27, 2008,

So there's nothing to worry about if your application is filed after the said date.

Folks, just got mr. Issued on 23rd march. Also a ppr asked to send after 2 weeks from the date medical done. Exactly one year it took.
