Should I have received a confirmation email after replying to Portal 1/P1 email? What are my options in case of unexplained delays?

It's been almost two weeks since I replied to the P1 email. (VO Montreal) I replied within a day or receiving it.

Are you supposed to receive a confirmation email once you have replied? I have no idea if they received my message or not.

Edit: by confirmation email, I don't mean P2 but a sort of receipt acknowledging reception of the reply to P1

Should I call IRCC or do something else?
