According to the 2020 application sheet no one from 2020 normal applications invited for test yet, any update? Experienced users any idea when will test invites start for 2020?

Advertised processing time is 12 months. At best September applicants are 6 months in to the process. However during 2020 a lot of offices closed and staff levels were reduced. I think it is possible to complete the process in 2021 especially if the online test scheme is rolled out/scaled up.

Be patient and if not by the end of this year then it will be in the first half of next year.

Is the background check finished in this case? (BG check gets done in Sydney?)

I don't think in process etc means anything anymore. They process random, applications from March 2019 are currently finalized etc. So we are in this for another 18 months most likely. Also add the processing of 27k PR applications in one draw... it could easily take another 6 months

I understand that that is what In process means i.e. transferred to local office.

In process means it is literally in process to be transferred to the local office and that itself could take a while

I believe this is not accurate as I know friends their documents received by December 2019 and in process Feb 2020 and their 1st test cancelled March 2020 and got another invite for test early Feb 2021 and passed the exam. I think in 6 months or less hopefully we will get the test.

I understand that that is what In process means i.e. transferred to local office.

It means that police and security checks have started on your file in Sydney office. Once these checks are completed and passed, only then your file will be transferred to your local office for eligibility checks, test invite and oath

There are several Feb 2020 applicants received test invitation last week as I was checking their forum (non urgent applicants). I think that’s a good news, test invitation for 2020 applicants is started.

I sent my application for citizenship Sep 25,2020. Since then i didnt get any AOR. Today i checked my online status So my application status is in proccess. I clicked the link. and found details. They reciveced my application sep 25,2020. Sent AOR with discover Canada letter on Dec 15,2020 (i dont receive any email), and my application is in process since Feb23,2021.
My 2nd question - I went outside canada for a month jan21,2021 -feb 22,2021. DO i need to inform them?

No need. This does not affect your application at all.

That's fine. Many applicants did not receive an emailed AOR. No one has got the Discover Canada book either as far as I know. Ypu can order a PDF or physical copy from the link that they mentioned in your status.
