I think taking fresh photo is not a big deal. I was im situation like you but decided to take fresh photo to avoid any potential delay.
Technically you are right, you can submit the same old photo. Calling may not help bcz they will refer you to download photo guidelines and follow it.

I just have 44 days to go and still in IP1 stage. AOR date: September 17th 2018. I ordered for GCMS notes about 2 weeks back. Anyone still in the same boat as me?
Also I do believe its too early for me to raise a case specific inquiry. Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.

My case is same as yours. Most of the people around our AOR are still stuck in IP1. I’m sure our files will move this month in feb.
Any particular reason your file is moved to NDVO? Did you raise any ADR? Any previous visa rejection?

I have diarised to call ircc again on 15th Feb for a last update and if still nothing has progressed I will just carry on with the routine until one day THE mail lands in my inbox
Thing is I am from Mauritius and I do not think I can order gcms notes unless I am in Canada or us. Is that correct?

there are companies that order gcms notes on your behalf. i am also living outside canada. i ordered through https://www.getgcms.com. just follow their instructions. you just need to send them scanned copy of signed authorization form.

The background verifications are not in process yet. (although my profile was updated to BG in progress in early Jan)
does this mean that there's any RR for eligibility or it's simply in progress?
