Hello I am new. I am sponsoring my husband from Costa Rica. I sent our file away on September 21 and it arrived in Missasauga on September23. I have a question when I check Ecas I have inputed my info and no results all I have is the receipt number. It is the Sponsors info they are asking for? We are using the Guatemala visa office.

Call the CIC and if you ask for a Client number
they will ask "are you the sponsor"?
if you say yes, they will say "use the 8 digit client id in your PR card, that is your client ID"

What magpie is talking about is the client ID for the PR applicant.


Sponsors can use thier 8 digit client id in PR card

Hey Kannadiga, I completely agree with Kuku. As I said before the same thing happened to me. I called them yesterday morning and they told me my file hasn't been opened yet but 5 min later I got an email saying my sponsorship has been approved. So do call them again and inquire. That would be my suggestion. Good Luck.

I was also hoping to get approval like u ppl... but havent got it till now... I will wait untill the next update by CIC hopefully today or by tomorrow. then we will call and enquire.

Hooray! eCAS just updated, and we were sent a letter on November 23. No trace of an email in either account, and I guess the hard copy letter is on its way. I'll tempt fate and assume it's an approval. ;D

You can call CIC and confirm weather its an approval. I am sure it would definately be an approval!!!

- I noted one thing that the UCI in the letter is same as my client ID without dash
- Also ECAS is still not updated
