Our 6 month anniversary yesterday didn't bring us the sponsorship approval, but we were able to go out and have some nice dinner. I feel blessed to be able to be with my partner during this process...

Good Morning Sep Team,

I got my sponsorship approved today. It was funny because I called CIC today morning around 8:15 AM and asked them for information on my file. I was told that my file hasn't been opened yet and was asked to call back in 2 weeks time. The call center agent was pleasant and checked my file and also the current processing time (which, according to her, is still 66 days). I ended my call with her at 8:30 AM. I checked back my email around 9:15 AM and I had the sponsorship approval email from CIC sent to me at 8:37 AM. Just want to let you guys know that call center people do not always have the current up-to-date information.

Good Luck to all the people waiting for their approval. I got lots of useful information from you guys and I'll stay on this Sep thread and will update you guys with every step in the process.

Its just easier then checking the website everyday.

This maybe genuine or may not be.

However I am not submitting my personal information in a unknown third party website if it is not authorised by CIC.
There are some smart thieves, who do a lot with ID theft!

Why to take the risk? My opinion only

I agree with shivathegreat. We shouldn't give your personal info to these kind of websites that aren't run by CIC. you are risking of loosing your identity. Let's not be lazy and just check ocas once in a while.

Do not rely on their answer. They are the most useless persons on this earth.

I got the same answer when I gave them a call in morning. The same day after noon I got the decision made on Ecas. And when I gave them a call after the decision made on Ecas, the lady informed me that I was approved as a sponsor and the letter has been mailed to me.

I believe CIC should have automatic system. When status changes on ecas, it should send the email to registeredd email address. It willbe nice. It is not difficult to do. Only an hour job to make this modification in their ecas application.

I agree with you 100%. It would help a lot of people and prevent anxiety through an already stressful process
