How does Seniority in an union company apply to permanent residents? Are we part of the seniority list as it applies to layoffs? Or are we the first ones laid off?

There is likely no difference between PRs and citizens in terms of priority. However you would need to speak with your union to confirm. This question is too specific to answer generally.

Typically being PR Citizen has nothing to do with layoffs when it involves layoffs, it's all seniority . However if you're on a work permit with an expiration date, you'd no longer legally be able to work . Have you approached your local of your union versus a public forum? Or check your contract ? Union president? Every contract is different
