I moved in with my partner (Canadian citizen) on June 18th, 2025. We're trying to decide when it's safe to apply for her to sponsor me, based on the cohabitation evidence we have. These are the documents we have right now:
- Rental agreement: Signed by the rental company on June 30, 2025 (they were slow getting me added to the lease as an additional occupant)
- My bank statements: June 20 2025 to present day
- Internet invoices: June 27, 2025 to June 1, 2026 (first half is in my partner's name and 2nd half is in my name when we switched internet providers) could provide proof that it's currently active
- Hydro bills: June 3, 2025 to June 2, 2026 (in my partner's name) could provide proof that it's currently active
- My partner's driver license
- My partner vehicle insurance (I'm not on it because I don't drive)
- Notarized statutory declaration of common-law union (we WILL have this on June 18th)
- Amazon package with my name from June 24, 2025
