I have 67 points in my Fswp assessment and my CRS score is 378 belonging to noc 3012. So, 420 is not equivalent to 67 points in FSWP. I got CLB 8 over all 8.0 in IELTS.
Alright alright! May be there's some tweak or change in scoring system! My bad, I got it wrong. I had 76 points in FSWP, and I just calculated my score on a website which said I've got a score of 476 so I thought 420 might be something like 67. May be they have given higher weight to some factors than others or may be the points calculator lied about my score. Just so you know, IELTS 8.0 is NOT CLB 8, it's probably CLB 9 or 10+

I thought 67 points was pretty good benchmark for identifying people who're likely to succeed in Canada, so whatever it's equivalent be, that's the one CIO probably would use as a lower limit of scores, because as far as I know, the main reason to introduce EE was to give higher priority to people with higher score instead of using FCFS method!

Lowering the acceptable standards would neither be helpful for Canada, nor for the people migrating themselves. Canada needs immigrants because of it's aging population. It needs people who can pay taxes so that those in retirement can enjoy access to healthcare and pension etc benefits. If incoming migrants can't find high paying jobs then they have to start claiming benefits instead of paying taxes which then voids the whole purpose behind immigration.

One flaw so far I've figured out in FSWP is that it doesn't group people by NOC and use round robin method to ensure that there is fair diversity of skills in the incoming aliens. Otherwise there would be lack of supply in certain occupations and oversupply in others! Hopefully, CIO will at least sort this one out.

You are under FSW right? What is your assessment score?

FSW Scoring was simple, you get 23 points for a master's degree. 12 points if age is between 27-35. 24 points if score 7.5 in all IELTS section. 9 points for valid 1 year's exp with job duties then you get 9 points, spouse IELTS above CLB 6 then 5 points for adaptability. plus 2 points every 2 additional years of work exp

Total for masters 23+ IELTS 24 + age 12 + 1 yer work exp 9 + 5 points for adaptability + 3 points additional work exp = 76 points

I applied in last June under FSWP 2014, and I got my PR visa about a weeks ago.

Can you break-down your FSW assessment?

And did you get points for your ECA for your degrees in EE profile?

All,

Please can a current international student in canada apply for FSW under EE using his previous work experience under NOC 2171.

Will there be any penality for this as he scores 72 under FSW and 407 under EE.

Advise needed please.

There wouldn't be any penalty. And of course, regardless of where you are or what you are doing right now, you can apply for Canada PR from wherever you want, your application will be processed just like anyone else's, in fact you may have advantage over others due to Canadian experience / education.

I got an overall of 8.0 in my IELTS result, but my lowest subtest score is 6.5 that limited my CLB to 8 only. My NOC is for nurses and the cap was filled immediately last year. My consultant which is member of ICCRC is confident about my score to receive an ITA mid year. Also my documents are ready to be submitted and my proof of funds are maintained for the past 6 months. By the way I have more than two years continuous experience in my profession and I'm 24 yrs old.

Be optimistic everyone!!
That's the thing isn't it! From what I've observed in various forums so far, it seems there are large number of people with scores between 400 - 481. Even if they issue 2000 ITAs in 6th draw cut off score isn't likely to fall down as much as it did in the last draw. In fact it may well be around 450.

3rd Draw | February 21, 2015 | 849 invitations were issued for a minimum score of 808 points.

2nd Draw | February 07, 2015 | 779 invitations were issued for a minimum score of 818 points.

Looking at the gap between 1st and 2nd draw, it is clear that there were 849 candidates with scores between 808 and 818. I think there are far many more candidates between each 10 point range as the cut off scores go down. Potentially, number of EE Candidates between 470-481 could easily be around 2000!

The drop to 481 points in 5th draw was obviously due to the fact all Candidates with nomination or LMIA job offer had been issued ITAs by the end of 4th draw. but that won't get repeated, now the fall in cut off will be much slower!

I'm not sure if you guys here have a comprehensive spreadsheet of EE applicants like FSWP, it could help prepare an estimate candidates and give everyone an idea how likely they're to get in the valid range in the next draw.

You should have done more thorough research.
Many erroneous ITAs have been revoked between 2nd and 3rd draw.
And 3rd draw waas only for CEC.

What kind of errors were made? and do you think / know they were more than negligible? i.e. more than 5% of total ITAs issued in the draw?

In any case, this was an analysis based on the hands on info available and it's fairly accurate IMHO. I am not part of EE so I wouldn't be able to spend time to detailed research!

Having said all of these, I believe it's highly unlikely that CIC will start sending ITAs to candidates scoring below 420. This assumption is based on the criteria used in FSWP. Minimum points required in FSWP are 67. I think 67 in FSWP is about same as score of 420 in Express Entry. That was the basis of my original argument.

I could be wrong, however, in any case I wish you all good luck!
My FSWP score is going to be at least 75 (currently waiting for IELTS result) but CRS score is probably going to be around 325. Do you think I am calculating my score wrong? I have a Bachelors degree in computer science and engineering with over 8 years of experience (No education and job experience in Canada). I am 34 years old and currently doing MS in Computing In USA. NOC is 2174. What do you think about my chances? Thanks in advance
