Hello all,

This is my first post on this site! :D

I worked at my last position (which is an entirely different NOC than all the other positions that I held) for only 1 month. The form requires applicants to list all occupations in the last 10 years and "the number of years of continuous full-time or equivalent part-time experience". What should I do with my latest position - should I include it? If I should include it, should I check the "1 year" box in the "Years of experience" or should I avoid checking any boxes? I'm honestly not sure if I'm allowed to include it at all. I'm not counting that one job's experience time against my FSW application experience anyway. So if I do include it, it's only because I want to be transparent in my application and list all my jobs without leaving any time gaps, if that is what I am required to do.

Secondly, what date do I use for present events in the various visa application forms. For example, what date should I use in the "To" field of Q.12b for my ongoing job? Should I write a word like "Present/Ongoing/Now" in the "To" date field, or should I write today's date, or should I leave it blank? This is an ongoing job, so there is no termination date.

Thanks guys and I look forward to being a new member to this site!

Why did it only last a month?

You should include it because you need to be complete and thorough, but you might want to explain why it was only a month (though it's not that important to them). You can check the box for 1 year. For "present," you can leave the field blank and write it in with pen after printing, or you can put in today's date and explain that it is intended to mean "present."

You have to be transparent. Their background checks are very strong. If they feel suspicious, your application might be in trouble.

Future_Canadian is right, mention that in cover letter.

Good luck
