Hello everyone. I recently received ITA and I listed three work experience in Canada. One of the work experience is a part time job. I do have the employment letter for it but the job description in it is a little bit short, not too detailed compared to other two. And it's very complicated to ask HR to add more detail to the letter.

So far, even without this part time experience, my other 2 work experience can still support me with enough points. Should I still include it in my work experience? And in worst case scenario, if IRCC do not recognize this part time experience, even though my other two will give me enough points, will I get rejected? Thank you guys so much.

If your other two jobs already give you the required CRS points and meet the eligibility for work experience, you don’t necessarily need to include the part-time job in the claimed work experience section. IRCC is very clear: you only need to prove the experience that supports your score.

That said, you can still list the part-time job under “Personal History” (which covers the last 10 years of activities) to avoid any gaps in your timeline. It doesn’t have to be evaluated for points if you don’t claim it under work experience.

If you do decide to claim it, IRCC may request stronger proof (like detailed duties), and if the job letter is too vague, they might not accept it toward points. But this won’t cause a refusal if your other two experiences alone already support your points and eligibility. The key is to make sure the experience you are claiming is well-documented and aligns with NOC requirements.

In short:
  • You won’t get rejected just because one optional part-time job isn’t accepted.
  • Only claim points for jobs where you can provide solid proof.
  • Do include the part-time job in your personal history to keep everything transparent.

Thank you very much man. Really appreciate your detailed response. When I applied EE for application under CEC, I did include the part time job. So after receiving ITA, do I have to include it too for PR application? Thank you
