Just to let anyone who may be considering submitting their passport in person know, I emailed Rome over the weekend asking if my husband could submit his passport on Tuesday and possibly get the COPR/visa by this Friday. They answered me on Monday saying that he could do this, they just of course cannot guarantee that it will be ready by then. So he is on his way to Rome now to submit it when they open. Unfortunately the embassy is closed on Friday so hopefully it will be done in time, or else we'll have to purchase another flight.

That's great news...so they actually told you that it's possible to hand the passport in person and minimize the process time..right? I live in Rome so I guess it's the easiest way...

I never specifically asked them if it would minimize the processing time, but I am certain that it will especially since there is no courier involved, which could take a while. They never said that getting the visa it wasn't possible this week, so we're just hoping that we hear from them today or tomorrow! Since it is very expensive to stay in Rome we hope it will be fast.

My husband received the visa today! It was very kind of them to complete it in time for his flight to Albania. He will probably be coming to Canada by the end of the month!

hi everyone!finally arrived in Canada it was a really long trip but it was very easy when i arrived here.it took me 20 min to do all the procedures.an officer signed the COPR & he asked me some questions and then i went to baggage claim took the luggage and free to go to meet my hubby i am so happy that finally all has fInished.good luck everyone

im happy you joined It looks like Rome is fast processing applications and I hope it continues this way!

I am hoping within the next two weeks! I have returned to Canada and my partner is still in Italy and his proof of medical exam is on it's way via UPS!
