I wasn’t able to apply to extend it, just tried to do it now but couldn’t. It said the date should be greater than today to apply. So I need to apply for restoration asap and I tried some short term courses and I find one which is full time and dli and that’s FSL which is quite beneficial too, I just need to get Loa from them, hopefully I would get a reply from them tomorrow about it and will be able to apply for the study permit restoration after that. I have a question, if I apply for the restoration? it will be the same conditions as before such pgwp eligible and everything or it will be a new study permit with the new immigration rules? Kindly please let me know this.
Also let me know if you think the loa and everything could be helpful to restore the study permit status.

If you are changing schools and/or levels of study, then to the best of my knowledge you need a PAL in order to extend your study permit (along with restoring your status). I would getting a consult with an immigration lawyer to make sure since your situation is complicated. I am not an immigration lawyer.

If you were facing financial difficulties already how will you have the funds to qualify for a study permit or live given it may takes many months to get the result from restoration and study permit? This is not a fast process.

I am wanting to do this either but this is the only option and I don’t wanna be separated for so long. I have my sisters and father there too and they will be suffering financially because of me if I don’t do my life better.

Yea I think about applying for the destitute work permit and I can apply for the extension too but as I have been out of college for 120 days and still not enrolled and my college’s registration date is till May 2 which is 3 days so I see it as impossible to getting back in college.

Do you think there’s any chance I could apply for extension and get enrolled into any other college and apply for the work permit? I may need new study permit for that too I think which isn’t something too easy or really possible as of the circumstances I have?

I just wish to study and regret wasting all the time but it’s done the only thing I care about is my love and my family and thinking to change all for them.

Do you know that if you claim for refugee, if accepted, you cannot return to your home country until you become citizen. (that a very very long road)

Since you are only dating your girlfriend, you cannot sponsor her even after you became PR.
You sisters and father also will have lower chance to get visitor visa to visit you in Canada.

So this is something to consider on top of other issues that you are facing.

Yea, that’s true but I am already in Canada and have a job and can also show funds probably ( borrowing from friends and all). I talked to a consultant and they said I should ask the college to give me a letter explaining my situation and that would help me to restore study permit and continue my study.

Because it's immigration....no real laws or requirements to enforce....just vague suggestions it seems!

But you stopped working a few months ago when you stopped attending school, yes?

You need to be speaking to a lawyer not a consultant. They will hopefully give you an honest opinion about your situation and what may be your options. Working illegally and accruing more debt is just adding to your problem not helping it.
