Hi Guys,

Can you please give me some ideas on how can you provide a reference letter if you are the owner(self employed) of the company and yet you are the principal applicant!?! so who is going to make a reference letter for me??? :)

Thanks!

Corporate seal and Business letterhead, and other partners if there are part of the company to attest you have formed. Another words Article of incorporation. If small business have Business license Notarized preferably by a lawyer or (notary). That's my two cents.

In addition to the mentioned above documents you need to submit the following:

If you are the owner of your business(self-employed) you must submit copies of the following :

• business/company registration documents,
• proof of business conducted with clients (invoices, bills, client references)
• balance sheets,
• income tax returns, and/or
• proof of your licence to practice (if you are a private practitioner)

Strange, that this info is not provided in the Buffalo guide.

I have had the same problem trying to find out this information. In my case, I was an independent consultant for 4 years in the USA - no "company".

I just worked on this today, so - feedback, anyone?

I wrote my own reference letter (4 pages), got a letter from one of my clients, and got notarized copies of my consulting agreements (I fortunately had only 4 separate clients during this time). I also got notarized copies of my 1099-MISC (non-employment income reported to the IRS). And for each year, I have copied sections of my income tax return that demonstrate self-employment income, and attached all of the invoices that I could find (I'm missing a few).

I even tallied up all the days/hours at various rates etc. - because they need to be able to convert this info into some estimate of equivalent full-time employment to tally up your points... that's what I was thinking, anyway.

For the tax returns and invoices, I could not get those notarized because I only have photocopies, not the originals. Explained that in the letter and am hoping that's OK...

The stack of documents is an inch thick. Don't want to provide so much that it's over-kill, don't want to annoy the officer who gets my application by providing stuff that they don't ask for - but without guidance, not sure what else to do..

Evan this info is not provided in Berlin visa guide..

So please do reply your comments..becuase i have same situation.

Hi Guys I have a similar query here. I am self employed, owner of wholesale trading business. Noc 0621. Many of my wholesale clients purchase products and pay. They wouldn't be able to answer how many hours a day I work or all my duties that fall in my noc.

I visit them to their office or shops 2-3 times a year for accounting, feedback on products, and just to maintain harmonious relation.

They are willing to provide references but I have to get the proper wording that suits CIC requirements. Plz guide.
