Hello everyone,

Sorry for the long post.

I am all set and prepared to put my application file under CEC in coming few days. I was waiting for the reference letters from my manager but as I have received the letters now i would like to confirm my dicey employment situation and whether this letters will work or not.

I have been working in the same company but on contract for first 6 months and then was hired permanent. Just to clear up things following is my scenario.

Work experience in company A - 14 months.

First 6 months in company A - On contract was hired by Company B. An employment agency who placed me in company A. I received my pay stubs from Company B as i was being paid by this employment agency company B.

Rest of 8 months in company A - I was hired as permanent employee and my pay stubs are from company A as they pay me and i am no longer bound to Company B.

Now i have received the employment verification letter from Company B (Employment agency) which looks like a black and white print on a paper and no letter head. The letter states that i was employee of Company B as Programmer Analyst from start date of my employment and my last pay stub was on my end date of employment. The last pay stub was paid with hourly rate of $$/week. They provided me with another sheet of paper which has all my detailed pay information which i was paid weekly. This letter did not have duties and responsibilities as I was working in Company A on behalf of Company B.

Now i got 2 reference letters from my manager at Company A where i am working at present. One for the contract term and the other one for the period after i was hired permanent. Both the letters mention the same duties and responsibilities as it was the same position and same company that i was working for. Will this reference letters work or do i need to put something addition to my pay stubs and contracts letters.

Are the duties and responsibilities in line with the NOC 2174???

I think it all looks good, NOC, 3 letters etc. The only thing that I wonder about is why the letter from Company A is not on letterhead. Does it have all the contact information for company A and the person who signed? Can you get a business card from the person who wrote the letter?

Thanks jes_ON for your reply.

The reference letters from Company A are on letter head with all the company details like address, phone number, fax. Also the Managers business card is attached on the letter. The third letter which is from Company B, the employment agency does not have the letter on letter head. Actually the employment agency that i was working for is Robert Half Technology and i had to contact their customer service to get my reference letter issued. This is the only way to get an employment verification letter from RHT. So the employment verification department of RHT sent me a letter which is looks like a black and white printout and no letter head. They also sent me an excel sheet type of copy with all the payment information with hours i worked for that pay period. Also there is no signature at the bottom of the letter. It just says

Sincerely,

Customer Service
Robert Half Technology

I asked them to send me a signed letter on a letter head but they are adamant saying that this is only what they provide to everyone who asks for employment records and it is a system generated letter.

I am concerned about this RHT letter if that will create any issues in processing my files even though i have all the pay stubs from RHT which does mention that i was working for a client Company A.

Do you think i should attach a cover letter explaining this situation??
