Realized a wrong information on IMM 0008, what should I do?

Happy new year everyone! I've done something so stupid!!!

I am trying to sponsor my mother to Canada. I already handed in the application form and just realized that I put down a wrong information on form IMM0008 box#3.

box#3 of IMM0008 （how many family members, including you, are in this application )

I put 1, but I realized I should have put 2. Although I am only sponsoring my mom, she is married to my dad of course and is still married.

What should I do now??? Can I still continue with my application and contact CIC to have them change that for me? Or I should write an explanation letter to CIC? Or there is no chance for correction and I have to withdraw the application?

Your advice is much appreciated!!!!!!

From what i have gathered from my own mistakes they will send you a request for a new form to be filled .They will realize that you are including your dad because the paper work will have all his details.The bad news is that this can take a few months or they will return the whole application. There is nothing you can do right now . You just have to wait and see.

Thanks! Can I contact CIC to have it corrected for me before they contact me tho?
It is clearly a really small typo because my dad's info is listed in IMM 0008, just not sponsoring him this time.
I hope they won't return the entire application due to this error :'( :'( :'(

You could try calling the call center but they normally won't do anything until they open your application . I made a mistake on mine and couldn't do anything until they contacted me . I was delayed by about 2 months.

Oh boy.... maybe I should just re-do a form and send it to them now hahaha

No worse i forgot to enclose a form.If you try sending a form now they will not be able to match it up to your application.Think about it .They open your package and start processing it then your letter is there in someones else pile .I knew i forgot the form just the day after i sent my package off .Had to wait till they contacted me then they gave me 45 days to send in the new form . They may even call you and correct the form . After they received my new form the VO called me, asked me the same questions then said you're sponsorship has been approved .

You're welcome. The thing with CIC is you never know what they are going to do . There don't seem to be a regime they follow. Good luck .
