Hey guys,

I am in a situation where I was charged, but then the charges were withdrawn. CIC requested an RCMP Certified criminal record check as I'm sure they found a positive fingerprint match.

Can anyone tell from their experience how long it takes to receive the rcmp letter. It says 120 days online, but I have only 60 days to submit online through the cic portal. Please help!!°

Hi @mpsqra, thanks for your response.
I went for electronic fingerprinting on Mar 18 at the commissionaires, but I still haven't received the letter in my mail. You said less than two weeks, does that include mailing time through Canada Post?
.

It is suggested that if you fall into one of these categories;

* Not Guilty
* Charges dismissed
* Charges withdrawn
* Un-Conditional Discharge
* Conditional Discharge

You can contact the Police Department that took your fingerprints originally and request that they be removed from the RCMP holding Bank.

Thanks for your input. I got a stay of proceedings from the crown which means that the charges were stayed/dismissed. Does the RCMP report show the dismissed charges and/or court disposition?

my case:
Dear Sir / Madam: Madame, Monsieur

This certifies that a search of the National Criminal Records repository and Fingerprint Repository maintained by the RCMP concerning the Applicant whose fingerprints, name, and date of birth appear below could not be associated to any Immigration-related file or existing Criminal Record which may be disclosed in accordance with Federal Laws.

Application Type / Genre de demande : Landed Immigrant Status

Date Fingerprinted / Date de prélevement des empreintes : 2017-06-13

@mpsqra you have no record with RCMP. I believe that is the reason why it was under normal processing time of 72 hours and then one week of mailing time. My case is different since it involved dismissed charges.
