Fully opening borders -> more Covid in Canada -> more stress on the system -> less likely to open immigration for abroad

Borders closed -> moderated spread of Covid -> less focus on Covid -> more likely for immigration programs to resume as normal

Also on that link shows that the small spike is reducing again.

Can someone explain me why if they keep their borders closed is worse for FSW? It is not like after we get an ITA we will go immediately there...

That's right! Border closure has nothing to do with FSW draws since the people with COPRs (in USA) can now travel to Canada. But I think the immigration meeting that happened lately could impact future draws. Only time will tell whether they decided to resume all program draws completely.

Was it an "emergency meeting" or was it a regular meeting that they have on their schedule? Not aware of this

Didn't sound like an emergency meeting but something like a strategy for 2020-23 immigration plan highlighting importance of immigrants especially international students (CIC news posted that students may be allowed soon post meeting) and focusing on regional immigration programs.
I believe that people in Australia and USA started receiving the updates regarding their files post meeting as well.

Crs is 466, will drop in October so hoping there is a draw with similar score as tech draw this week. Your opinions?
I hve same crs - 466., hopefully before october they will conduct one more HCP draw.
But the nominations left are less now, let's hope and pray that the next OINP draw comes in our range.

So I take this a positive news, some of the outcome where to move forward with immigration.
Let's wait and see, and also hope for an all program draw Wednesday. Hoping for alternating draws at least for a while.

Thank you for the response @13nitinsharma!! I am a bit overwhelmed with the process. I was wondering if you could answer some of my questions.

1. Last OINP draw as for CEC only. is this one for foreign skilled workers?
2. If I receive NOI, I'll have 45 days to submit my application. Will I still be in EE pool in these 45 days? OINP costs you an additional 1500 CAD and the process is a bit longer than EE. Idk if it would be a good idea to accept the invitation or shall I wait in the EE pool since I have 474.
3. How long do I have to accept the invitation? I know I'll have 45 days to submit the application once accepted.

Please correct me if I am wrong. TIA
Hi, I have received the NOI on 29th July. What is the procedure to "Accept" the invite? I am not able to see any particular option to accept the same.
