Do you really want an answer or just bragging?

Look up what the scores have been for the past 6 months and then decide if you want to ask that question.

I know right?! Lot of ppl asking stupid questions lately, especially after those changes..

Hi guys,

I am at 468. Since there are changes it is unlikely I think the score will drop below 470 in the next round but will go up.
I can increase my score by about 4 points if I retake IELTS. I haven't considered retaking it before because seeing the trend I was sure the score will drop and I will receive ITA..but not so sure anymore.
Should I go for it or wait to see what the cut off might be in the next round?

Thanks

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA. You will get ITA in next 2-3 rounds,. Why spending more money on IELTS??

Well, I see that the three of us (Astralsource, DiNaV and me) discussing this have scores of 446, 445 and 447 respectively, so there is enough reason for optimism ;D

DiNaV, I would suggest that while we are all speculating that the scores will come down, you should still keep the option of OINP open (that is if their criteria remains the same as last year and we qualify for their PNP program). While it does cost significantly more money, but at the same time it also increases your chances of PR significantly. Especially considering that you never know when CIC may come up with another change in the scoring system and turn the entire scenario upside down, dashing all our hopes in process :(

Can we have a universal response for these?
"Do I stand a chance with *any score above 400* "
"Maybe"

Hey thanks for your response.
Yea you're right. Don't wanna waste money but I was so close I keep saying to myself stupid should have retaken it before and I would have been submitting documents by now. Anyhow, it'll happen for everyone when it is supposed to happen and not before :)

For those under 450 I am pretty sure the score will come down eventually. We have seen cut offs till 450 with 1500 invites and now with increasing invitations per round upto 2400 it is definitely bound to come down .. just a matter of time.

yeah i know, but every point is vital...

just reminds me of the pain some of the guys who were on 481 went through... they had such a high score but never got ITA for several months, the lowest score went down to was 482... so near, yet so far...

to me every point is vital, and if i feel i can increase score by 4 extra points, i might be tempted to give a shot... but thats just me

Totally agree with the way you're thinking. You just want to ensure you did your best and perhaps sleep better every night. I would nail those 4 points.

By the time he prepares for IELTS and gets the results (assumption he gets scores he needs AND may I remind you IELTS is not an easy quest for non-english speakers) he will probably get ITA. Im just sayin. This is a great score, I would sleep very good with this score, maybe even fell in a coma. Suit yourself.

yeah i know he has a point... plus IELTS tests arent cheap either...

upto each individual i guess... i mean for me if i want to write a test i can get a date like 3 weeks from now, i know in several countries it takes months to get a booking date... so yeah - catch22 situation...
