You’re saying that second and third place is good enough.

Canada is not a land of opportunity like the US. Anyone who is talented can make it big in the US. That’s simply not the case in Canada and any of the commonwealth countries.

I clearly spoke about cultural mosaic vs the melting pot- please see what it means.
With all due respect, this kind of people make me sick.

You do realize that you might be taking the spot of someone who does wish to settle in Canada for good?

If you really want to move to Trumpland because you are an extremely gullible person and believe everything you see in Hollywood, then by all means go ahead, but please do so without crashing someone else's dreams.

Not speaking for me as I've already been a PR for over a year.

That should be enough. I thought there is already a 90days grace for that

As a PR you can work anywhere anytime. What is this 2 yr restriction?
I think he is referring to the fact that to be an Uber driver you need a G license. (G2 is not allowed). Typically it takes 2 years for people from most countries to get a G license in Ontario.

been here for more than a year as well. The reason I backed out of the argument is because it's clearly a troll looking to discourage aspirants. Many of them lurking around on this forum. How they benefit from discouraging ppl I've no idea.

How's the job market looking after this pandemic is over.
It's anybody's guess right now. It is too early to say because no one knows how long this situation will last. But for sure things would take time to get back to normal.

All I hear is layoffs left and right.
It's possible layoffs are happening. But recently government has said that they will subsidize 75% of wages for employers and asked them not to fire people. I'm not sure how much help businesses are getting on the ground and if employers will actually take this option.

This is the problem, right..you think with your 1 year as PR you know everything, you've seen everything. Please don't call me gullible because you're still in your honeymoon phase.

I've been living here for a long time now(not 1,2 or 3). I know how most things work and I'm still learning.

I'm done with this discussion. Let people come and feel it themselves. Just because I say it, it doesn't mean that people are going to stop applying. Everyone thinks they're better than the other..we live in that kind of world.

All the best !!

Hey Prof, What’s your guess for the next cutoff?
the thing is not all candidates above 467 received ITA in last two draws. only candidates with specific cadre (FST n CEC) were invited. what it also means is there are still many candidates left in the pool above 467 belonging to FSW. (like me stuck at 468)

so if you see the table, there are 1047 candidates (in 470-480), and total of 1320 candidates above 480.. add to that, there are 3675 candidates in 467-470 zone(estimated as per my table)... which accounts 6042 candidates in total above 467 of which 3900 candidates (FST & CEC) were invited leaving around 2100 candidates in the pool from FSW above 467..

also, My data set is as per 13th March 2020.. after that, we had 2 draws on 19th and 23rd with total of 3900 candidates getting an ITA.. so you can deduct those but also, like the past 2-3 months trend, we have seen a new influx of ~3000 candidates almost every 2 weeks (which might have reduced as IELTS exams are postponed).. this will be the biggest factor to look for in the coming weeks.. if we have a considerable drop, a CRS cutoff of 460 is also on the cards... :):)

In my personal opinion, I'm expecting (and badly hoping for) somewhere around 467-468 if the draw takes place on 1st April.. (fingers crossed) cheers..:cool:

Be positive, live positive, just don't test positive!! :p
stay home guys, stay safe!! cheers!

as CIC has published number of candidates between 450-500 in a class of 10 points , I tried to fit in a new curve through these points andtried to extrapolate the number of candidates having given CRS scored.

conditions: these are expected numbers derived from best fitting curve from past data
the numbers are based on the statistics of 13th March published in the last draw. the numbers will be different today but can give an idea how he candidates are distributed.

Just wondering if it's true or not, or maybe am wrong. If you carefully look at the table, why there's only 10 or 11 candidates difference between the CRS? Example..1093, 1083 and 1072. Is this a co incidence??

good observation... the thing is there are almost 10k people in 10 points n almost 9.5k in subsequent 10 points gap.. so the growth rate in this region is flat n = 1.01..

in simplest form, you can divide 1st number by 1.01 and get the next one..
candidates at n = candidates at (n-1)/1.01

candidates at 452= candidates at 451/1.01 = 1093/1.01 = 1083
candidates at 453= candidates at 452/1.01 = 1083/1.01 = 1072

n so on.. try yourself..

now why 1.01 ??? well its just derived.. from growth rate... if you increase the growth rate to even 1.02, the growth is so fast, the sum of candidates shoots more than 10k for that class.. the rate should be same for two consecutive classes to get approved. and the last number of this class should link with 1st number of the next class with same growth rate n so on.... I can't simplify more than that. :p :p

Hi, some helps needed here. I just updated my profile an hour ago and my score should have increased from 470 to 473, but the profile still showing 470 after the changes are 'transmitted'. My concern is that if the draw happen 10 hours later, will 470 or 473 be used? or will i be out of the pool because of some technical reason? Shall i withdraw my profile and re-create one? I am so worry now..Thank you all
