Is it mandatory to submit toefl (for english) score with the application?
the logic is that... anything that you claim on the forms should be backed up with adequate / appropriate proof.
if you say you're married - back it up with a marriage certificate.
if you know english..... show them the proof - IELTS, TOEFL, TOEIC and Cambridge tests.

how i interpret the info on the site was that... you should provide them some proof of language ability - either for french or english along with the application.

otherwise you stand the risk of delaying the processing / get stuck in an interview queue for months / getting rejected first hand.

Hi,
Hope you can assist me concerning Quebec Immigration. My husband, our 3 kids and i moved to Montreal last on temporary working permit. We would like to apply for PR, our only problem is that we dont speak french. My husband has a stable job at an english speaking institution, and is currently taking french classes but progress is very slow. I havent been able to register for any french class since in the area where we live, french lessons are resticted to PR and refugees, otherwise i would have to pay like an international student which is too expensive for now. Do you think we would still be considered by Quebec. My husband has a Phd and works as a software developer and i have a post secondary diploma. He is 38 years old. We dont want to risk applying and get rejected coz for a family of 5 is a consirable amount of money. I would really appreciate your response.
Thanks

hi SINKiri,

1st thing to do is get an evaluation done at the site.

http://www.form.services.micc.gouv.qc.ca/epi/index.jsp?languageCode=en
& read everything here
http://www.canadavisa.com/quebec-skilled-worker-immigration.html

i see a lot of things in your favour.
> your husbands phd. (more points for edu)
> you are already there in québec
> 3 kids (max 8 pts)
For each child 12 years of age or younger -4 pts
For each child 13 to 21 years of age -2 pts

>French - Your husbands already learning french. Get a letter or something from the company stating that he is enrolled in a language course @ the workplace.

i think these factors will work in your favour to get yourself a CSQ. One of the aims of the BIQ is to assess whether the PA will successfully find gainful employment and integrate into the Québec society. Here, the PA has already got himself a job. kids, & french learning will showcase your ability and interest in integrating.

I feel you should go ahead and apply, Quick !

Bonne Chance ! you can try picking up some french yourself. Many free resources on the net.

That's awesome! Will the transcript be posted later so those of us who can't make it can read the information given?

Quebec Immigration - Work Experience

The Work Experience criterion is one of the ten criteria for which points are awarded under the Quebec Immigration selection system.

Up to 8 points are awarded under the Experience criterion of Quebec immigration. This criterion is absolutely essential. Unless at least 1 point is awarded under the Work Experience criterion, the application will be automatically refused.

Points Experience

0 point Less than 6 months
4 points 6 to 11 months
4 points 12 to 23 months
6 points 24 to 35 months
6 points 36 to 47 months
8 points 48 months and over
8 points Maximum
Hello, I have a question. Where did you find that work experience is essential? I completed the preliminary evaluation test on the official website, and I put that I haven't practiced my profession. I still got the result that I meet the Quebec selection criteria. I also couldn't find that information about the work experience on their official website.

Looking forward to your reply. :)

Under work experience though, did you actually put no experience? Or have you worked before, just not in your profession? I believe all you technically need to have is six months in a job that requires a skill (A,B,C, or 0) of NOC categories.

I think, not 100% sure. Anybody else care to comment?

I advice you, you prepare your case yourself and do not hire any consultant.

I advice you, you take French language test for A1, A2 and ask your spouse for taking test of French A1 or/and A2 level and then apply for CSQ certificate of Quebec.

You wrote, you are preparing for French B1, B2 Level, It means you have already taken training for A1 and A2 level but I don't know whether you have taken French A1, A2 exam or not. Please take French level exam immediately after finishing any level, as same for your spouse.

Please write your complete case to visaexpert @ ymail.com for quick response.
Hi Visa Expert,
Good piece of information. I have applied for Federal on Dec 2nd 2010 and till now there is no response. Does it take this long for first response. Or is there a way to contact them.
thanks
