Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
Hi All,
Im an IT guy from India, with 2 yrs of exp i with a Fortune 500 cmpany.I wish to apply for a Quebec PR, but i would first want to get a job land there and apply throught AEO route.I hear for IT jobs in Quebec one does not need a Labour market approval. My question is this,
1.How are the opprtunities for the IT sector in Quebec, i know it all depends on us but how easy or how tough is it to land a job there in IT.
2.How long does it take to process my work permit application after i land a job, coz i doubt any prospective employer would wait too long.
P.S Im planning to learn French through Alliance Francaise

@ shahi and other members who have already received their CSQ. is this true?

since April 1, 2009, the Ministère de l’Immigration et des Communautés culturelles is reimbursing up to C$1500 to immigrants holding a Certificat de selection du Québec (CSQ – Quebec selection certificate) who took French language courses abroad after October 22, 2008. ::)

Hi,
We(Me, my husband and our 1 year old son) are in the process of filing for Quebec CSQ. Need your opinion in deciding who should be the principal applicant , me or my spouse? Here are certain points we are considering:

1. My educational qualification is Master of Engineering in Computer Science whereas my spouse's qualification is Master of Science(Electronics)
I have read somewhere that there are more points for Computer Science specialization. Is that true?

2. My age is below 35 and my spouse is above 35. Does it matter that the younger partner should be the principal applicant?

3. My work experience in last 5 years is for 4 years. I have been a stay-at-home mom for the past 1 year for our newborn. Does it make a negative impression if the principal application is not working recently. Before this, I had been working for 7.5 years as Software Engineer.

Keeping in mind these points, who do you think should be the principal applicant for CSQ application?
Please pour in your opinions.

No! My unpaid intern job wasnt awarded points at the interview.
Hi! Good day!
I have a question do they give points for experience based on the bracket given by months? or they can give points like 5 or 7 points if your near the next bracket? :)

or what if by the time of interview my total of experience is under the next bracket? can they give credit to my additional months as it will increase my points,so that i will fight for a lesser point for the adaptability?? or the point system cannot be change after having the preliminary score?

thanks guys :)

Presence of accompanying spouse in interview is compulsory so when both of them are attending the interview then both of them should be able to speak at least basic french I mean should at least know up-to DELF A1 level.

good luck

It means one can't move to Canada with family on Quebec immigration if his spouse can't learn/speak basic french (by any mean), either he qualified already ???

No it doesn't mean that if one's spouse can't learn/speak french can't move to Canada. In fact the name of this program is Quebec skilled worker immigration program, so the qualification of both the PA and AA matters. If the principal applicant learns french and makes himself ready to meet the requirement of a francophone society so the Accompany applicant should also learn and make herself ready to meet the requirement of this society. That is the reason they want both the PA and AA to be present in interview. Learning french is the smallest step to show that you are ready to integrate successfully in a Francophone society.
Could you please explain what do you mean" by any mean"???

Thanks for your reply ..

"by any means" mean is "In any way" or "by hook or by crook" :)

I know that this is not a big deal to learn basic french but she can't manage her time to learn French as she is living with my family in Pakistan and I am living in Saudi Arabia on work visa :(

your total points:44 + 1(self financial contract) =45. To be eligible for processing a case, you need 49 points. So i advice you to start learning french language.
