I have a question guys. My friend is a single mother who has no communication with the father for a very long time. Now that she is applying for a CSQ she needs to have the father of the child sign a declaration that he is consenting to have the mother take the child to Quebec. Since they do not have any means of contacting the father, how will she proceed?
Yes she needs the father of the child to sign the declaration in the presence of a notaire...
I think she should look for a way to get him or his family...
Just wait and see what others will say...

@ spanky84us

Just few recommendations from my side, though try some alternatives if any.

Are there any legal proceedings against this matter in progress or in the past ?
If yes, could enclose that/those document/s along with your application, having a brief explanation letter attached as well in regards to her situation (with choosing divorced option in the marital status of the form).
Else, choose the option of SEPARATED in the appropriate sections of Marital Status and/or Spouse on the form and attach an explanation letter that no contact since (specific year).

Would also recommend that, the explanation could be on some form of affidavit (preferably Govt., Stamp Paper) and should be attested/verified from authorized bodies such as notary, commissioner, etc., which could be found on the Quebec website for the list of accepted authorized bodies to attest.

Besides, in this case, required to fill the forms -
A-0520-AA as a principal applicant; (ensure to check marital status - "separated"
If a child is not dependent, i.e., over 22 years, form A-0520-CA;
The form A-0521-CA (declaration by spouse) would not be required to fill, as there is NO spouse present to the principal applicant.

With regarding the consent signing the form, i believe that you could skip this step, if you get an alternative grounds (varies) of getting attestation on affidavit from some authorized personnel that, there is no contact with the father of child / husband since a very long time (preferably specify some number of years which is longer period as it will be obvious that very unlikely to contact father/husband having no idea where is he, whether alive, etc.)

Please consider others' input as well.

Wish her good luck.

IF you have received the communication on the interview six months ago, it possibly means, there may not be anymore letter sent to other candidates for the next mission, and those who have not received the letter will have to wait for the subsequent mission. This is my assumption... So I will have to wait for another 1 year to 18 months if at all i am in the next mission atleast
there is no relation between missions and being in waiting list

Hello guys!!
I have one question to ask. I applied for Quebec on Jan 2014 and got my AOR on June 3 2014. At first i applied as a single applicant but now i got married within this time period. So, i would like to know if i can update my spouse document now or not? Or i can update it later? Which time is suitable to update? Thank You. And all the best for your processing.
Cheers!! ;) ;)

Hi

I am a student in Montreal Quebec. I will apply for CSQ very soon. However before the application I am getting married. So my questions are;
1. As I am on study visa , do I need to change my passport name before filing for CSQ.
2. I will file CSQ as married so will this affect my study visa as on that I am single.
3. after getting CSQ Can I apply for PR from my home country or Do I need to be in Canada?
4. If I dont change my status on passport now can I do it later or I have to do it for applying PR?
Can I apply for CSQ and PR with my passport without changing the status and attach the marriage certificate?

Thanks in advance!!!!!

Hi rashi,

1. As I am on study visa , do I need to change my passport name before filing for CSQ... it's not mandatory to change your name in your passport unless you change your name.
I will file CSQ as married so will this affect my study visa as on that I am single.,, no, it will not affect your study visa bcoz you got your study visa when you were single. If you get married before you apply for csq then you need more points to cross the threshold as compared to points require for single. Well, If I am not wrong, your course started on january,2014 which is of 2 years duration. So, you might not be eligible to apply for csq unless you cross the half duration of your course. In other words, you will be eligible to apply as principal applicant after 12 months of your study course.
Please read the points mentioned below:

To be authorized to apply for a CSQ under the regular program for skilled workers, during your stay for studies, you must:

have come to Québec with the primary goal of studying here and hold a Certificat d'acceptation du Québec (CAQ) for studies and a valid study permit, unless exempted by regulation;
meet all the conditions of this certificate and permit;
pursue or have successfully completed a secondary level vocational training program of 900 hours or more, a college studies program, an undergraduate university program of at least 12 months, a graduate program, i.e., a master's or an advanced graduate diploma (DESS – études supérieures spécialisées), or a doctoral program;
have completed at least half your study program, if its duration is less than 18 months or it is a graduate level or doctoral university program;
or

be 12 months or less from the end of your study program, if its duration is 18 months or longer.

3. after getting CSQ Can I apply for PR from my home country or Do I need to be in Canada? You can only be eligible to apply to visa office of canada if you live in canada for last more than 1 year.

@ coolforyou
You could still fill in the form - "A-0520-MA - Change to the Application for a Selection Certificate" and send all the supporting documents for this change occurred. Besides, if the deadline of 30 days form the change has crossed, ensure you will attach some brief explanation letter for not updating them on the change with a valid reason.
Good luck.

Please update at the earliest as i told you before as it is not too late now to do so, yet ensure you will enclose an explanation letter with a valid reason that stopped you to update as per the deadline. They still would update your file in merging your spouse details too now. Not an issue.
