They process faster applications submitted within Canada. Possibly because our credentials have already been verifird by CSQ interviewer but for those who apply from outside they are more suspicious. Same like Canadian visa - for those who apply from Europe canadian visa is super fast because applicants have already been filtered by European embassies when they got visa and should not represent a risk, but for those applying from outside the processing time is much longer.
Anyway I do not believe that evaluation comparative will help much, because if private sector employers do not appreciate foreign credentials, a simple paper cannot convince them in the opposite. However, with evaluation we can post to the government vacancy pool. Do you need to join professional order?

Long way to go
Greetings to everyone,

Just wanted to share some news about my application to L'Ordre des Chimistes du Quebec and hope it will be helpful.
Today I finally received a letter of eligibility for a chemist license from professional order! It says that I have 2 years from now on to arrive to Quebec and pay the enrollment membership fees to obtain the temporary license that entitles me to practice a chemist profession. Otherwise, application is expired and I'll have to reapply again with new documents. Overall, it means that I have a maximum of two years to get a CSQ and finalize the federal part.
So, for everyone who wants to practice one of regulated professions like a scientist, doctor, engineer I'd say it's kind of "double-edge sword" which is similar to medicals during the federal part. Because doing medicals too early is bad as It has to be valid at the time of landing, and I read before that some applicants had to undergo medical examination again. The same case is with application for a license. If It's done to early there's a risk of not being able to finalize the PR process by the time it expires.
However, on the other hand professional order evaluates the applicant's profile based on the established standards for undergraduate coursework curriculum. To meet the eligibility criterias an applicant must have a certain number of core course discipline in an undergraduate transcript. If your BS degree is more than five years old there's a very high probability of being required to study some classes in Quebec to get a license. This is why even if someone pursued MS or PhD research afterwards knows that graduate study is very specialized and only advanced subjects with a certain specialization will be listed in the grad transcript. Proving work experience in your field which is outside of Quebec in order to prove that you acquired new professional knowledge to make up this gap after completion of BS will be also quite questionable.
So, in sum I'd say that a candidate who completed a BS within past five years has the highest chances of being granted a professional license. If more than five years passed since then an applicant will be most likely required to take make-up classes in Quebec before obtaining a permit even if he did MS in the grad school or worked in his field outside of Quebec.

Hi vicky4frendz,

Thanks for your appreciation. The ministry told me to wait at least 7 months before contacting them. So I guess it is too early to hear news from them. Are you tracking their web? They show which file numbers they are processing now for evaluation comparative.

There is only the auto-translated version by Google Translate (french-english translation is pretty good by Google though):

Hi vicky4frendz,
My file is C0005863XXX so it is pointless for me to track the website now. I will check it around Christmas time to see what's going on.

I applied for CSQ as economic analyst, but was university teacher in UK before coming. My MSc and PhD are in economics, my undergrad was in arab studies and my college diploma was in piano playing. What about you?

Hello members,

Just want to share that I took TCFQ last month and got the results today, I scored B1 on both evaluations :D, I honestly expected an A2.
I have not taken any other French proficiency exams but I can say that TCFQ was fairly easy... if you have been studying some French of course. I have been studying French continuously for 9 months now, before that I had no knowledge of French whatsoever.

I have read some posts from some forum members who under estimate the importance of submitting French proficiency exams or having some knowledge by the time an interview is scheduled. Quebec is a Francophone province, knowledge of French is important for success and immigration officers know this, those of you who need to score adaptability points will hardly get them if you don't have at least an A2 level. In my opinion an A2 level shows that even though you are still a beginner, you have the willingness to learn the language. Now with "Parti Quebecois in power, even more importance will be placed on French language at selection interviews, God forbid but I would not be surprised if I start reading posts about people who have been denied because they did not get enough adaptability points at the interview.

The comment above is just my free and humble opinion, good luck to everyone and I hope to see you all in Quebec one day.
Congratulations Master 7 for getting good score in TCFQ.
Could you please let us know how did you prepare for TCFQ exam?

Re: Clarification

Dear Friends,
I am in perplexing situation regarding my application process for CSQ.I am from Nepal, having master's degree in sociology(17 years of study) except that I did one year vocational training in medical laboratory technician course 10 years back.I am a dependent applicant and my wife is a principal applicant. As I know, they don't grant any point for experience for dependent applicant. In my case,I am eager to know that do they give some points for area of training since I have more than eight years experience in the field for the period of last five years. Also I want to claim three points for my degree in sociology.Do you think this could be possible? If not,I don't want to add my vocational training certificate and experience along with the initial application. On the NOC ground,is 3152 Code number applicable to my wife's case as She is a registered nurse or different code number for the occupation list of Quebec? And one more urgent information that has to be addressed -Where can I submit my initial application ?Is it immigration office at Hong Kong or Montreal? Please provide me address of bank where I can deposit my application fees along with application. If possible, name and account number of the bank.
