I called many times the MICC, but call operator had no idea when originals will be returned as agents are not MICC employees.
The woman told me: "look! I do not work for the Ministry! I work at a subcontracting call centre! You will have the answer to your questions when you go for your appointment with Ministry!!!"

My appointment is tomorrow

alq814 said:
According to MICC website, if you submit originals, they will return it. However, since you already landed, might as well call them first or just go straight to their office to inquire and you'll have the answers to your question right away ;)

It will take forever - I did my Bachelor in Russia. I guess you know well that such certification will take very very long :D even a simple police clearance certificate takes 6 months to obtain.

Ketevan,

What if you contact the embassy/consulate of those countries where you studied in Quebec. They should provide all foreign document's certification.

Hello,

Thank you all for your congratulation messages :D I want to encourage everyone who has not taken any French proficiency exam yet to take TCFQ like I said before I have found it to be relatively easy and short.

@ dejvis, I am sorry to hear that you application was returned. Rumor has it that after July 31st there will be a minimum level of French required to apply which is expected to be B2 (which you already have) stay put on the new AOT list which will possibly be released after July 31st. Let's hope that either your or your husband's profession can be found there so you can apply.

I got you. The only way to accelerate the process in such countries is to put the "proper amount" in an envelope and give it to right person if you have good connections ;D. In this case I wish you settle everything during your appointment with Ministry. It would be good if they accept notarized copies instead of certified true copies.

HI Mollyforever,
EarIier the interview were happening in english and french but now the rules are becoming strict. They want people who have firm knowledge of french language and show them their willingness to be a part of quebec. From past experience they have learned that immigrant are trying qsw to enter canada through Quebec thats why they are making it difficult. Anyways if we learn this language it will help us in canada as well so why not learn it since we need to learn it anyway.
I wish you luck and pray you get the waiver.
Thanks faultyjack99 for your reply and wishes. I just got a reply from the consultant's quality control unit about the documents. The certified true copies are sealed and signed from the university and the seal is in native language. We cannot help with the seal, it will be in the native language only. Also the there's a tax documents missing as the salary during that time was not taxable. however, I've sent a link mentioning the tax slab during that period. Please suggest, if these points will be a drawback for us?? :(

MICC does not accept notarized copies, only copies certified by educational institutions.

Came back from MICC where I applied for evaluation comparative. To my great excitement, the staff scanned my diplomas and returned immediately! Yahoo! Saved money by avoiding "proper amount" and envelope ;D
However, she returned me the docs because I made appointment 3 months ago. But nowadays the appointment system no longer is available so everybody needs to drop documents in their mailbox and wait months until they are returned. So my suggestion to everybody - get several copies of your degrees and transcripts certified by your schools before leaving the country, because sending to MICC originals and staying months without diplomas is absurd. Also try to apply before coming because it takes about a year to get evaluatiom comparative and even the lowest ranking jobs like bank cashiers demand evaluation comparative.

Going to Emploi Quebec this afternoon to open my file. A few of my colleagues got an internship arranged by Emploi Quebec in their field, so I am going to enquire how to apply.

By the way, I quit my call centre job because I was required to do sales in each income call (though my job title and contract had nothing to do with sales). I got exhausted by being yelled at and treated like a bug by annoyed clients who were equally exhausted with aggressive tele-marketing. I will take a monthly break to complete my PhD thesis and then continue applying.

Congrats on settling this issue my friend. That's good that when living in a civilized society there's no need for "proper amounts". I bet there's no way to survive call-center job for long even if you're very patient. You've made a fine decision to complete thesis instead. Are you doing it in Quebec or it's from your former UK school?

Thanks a lot! Yes it is from UK, I passed defense by video conference but need to do some corrections to get the award.
Call centres are certainly not the best place to work, but when the management presses on you and forces you to meet sales quota while you did not apply to do sales - this is smth I cannot tolerate. I prefer roasting burgers at MD because burgers do not shout at me and do not swear :D

The clumsy public administration that could turn any businessman`s life into real hell and that drove away our foreign investors is the main reason for my firm decision to leave my home country Bulgaria. It took me more than a month to get a certificate proving my social contributions and paid taxes for the last five years. I was going to my revenue inspector every day to beg him just to print it out and seal it....
