To all,

This thread is strictly for QSW although any input from virtually anyone is appreciated.
WHo has already applied for Quebec?
Who is planning to apply for Quebec?

Hello,

ThI also share your opinion, regardless of when you applied if you are in the priority list you will be processed first if not you will be pushed all the way back in the line, I would like to find out if there is anyone here in priority list who has applied back in 2011 and have not got his QSW certificate yet? It sucks for some people but that's the way they are processing applications now.

It depends how many points you have now, since you are married if you have more than 63 pts it might not be that important but if you still need some adaptability points, an immigration office will hardly give full adaptability points at the interview if you don't speak that much French and your husband is not even willing to learn any French.

Re-posting it for the 3rd time, appreciate your comments

Hello all,

I am in a confused state and appreciate if Quebec applicants or others could put their thoughts and inputs.

I have already applied to QSW in Oct-2012, I renewed my DD last month and only days after I send my DD FSW opened its gates. I was surprised to see my occupation listed (NOC 2131, Civil Engineers) in federal.

Now the question is should I apply for federal as well as my ongoing Quebec application? I have seen some comments that some people have applied longer than 2 years ago but have not been invited to the interview.

Another thought that is driving me mad is that, what if my occupation (NOC 2131, Civil Engineers) is listed on QSW after 31st of July 2013?

So what do you think guys should I go for FSW or should I be patient to see if my occupation will be listed on QSW after 31st of July?
Hi,
I may be not an expert but I think you are assuming it right, If Canada has requirement for your profession then it might will appear in quebec requirement as well, you should wait with ur ongoing process as FSW has cap for all the occupation and here you process seems to be in progress so I think you chances are more likely with QSW.
Still you can check seniors opinion as well. Wish you luck my friend.

Hello Guys !!

Congratulations to all of those who received their PR and best of luck for all those waiting. I applied for Quebec Immigration in Jan 2013 and i received a file number (I don't know if this means A.O.R) in March 2103 stating all the documents have been verified and they would call for interview. I just have couple of concerns:

Our french is very poor since we only took 6 hours of classes from Alliance Francaise (Los Angeles) and i am worried if my interview would in french ? I know during our application we haven't used any points for french since we had enough points . Is french really needed? Please advise

Also how long will the entire process take before i get PR from Quebec?

I would appreciate if you guys would respond to my questions

Thanks
Hey your timeline seems interesting. u got AOR in just about 2 months? thats amazing, can u share your AOT and if you are priority? Did u get an email or a mail by post to acknowledge receipt? Just being curious

that is the trend, it seems like the long wait is even getting longer. do we really get what we deserve here? some applied back November and December 2010 and others in 2011 but no movement. unlike those priority which I believe 99% are nurses? I have not seen other priority occupations. the long wait is really getting longer with the fsw new rules, more and more priority applicants predominantly nurses (99%) will be applying thru QSW at this time so those who are not priority will be pushed way way way back again. adding more months I guess one year more to the waiting line.

Thanks for your reply. My wife is the principal applicant. She has a Bachelor & Master degree in Organic Chemistry and i don't know if that's priority. We received an acknowledgement from the immigration office around March saying they would call for interview. I am just worried about interview if they would do in french, bcoz we really are beginner in french and plus dont have time to learn/read bcoz of the tight work schedule. Any thoughts of yours will be really appreciated?

Ok, i'll advise you both to start some French classes that can at least help u get an A2 level, because a majority of the interviews are conducted in French, except for a few cases, as per this forum. You can as well tune to french TV channels always, like Tv5monde etc, watch french movies and try to understand them, constantly listen to some documentaries in french and read french newspapers to see if u can make some sense out of them. The most common way one of my friends used was reading the quebec and CIC immigration websites, one tab in english, and another in french, compare and try to find the meanings of some english words/phrases in french. It's not a difficult task, because for the interview, you just need to listen and understand what the VO says, and as well speak in response. U don't need to write nor read anything.....so i beleive any efforts put in learning the language will be beneficial to u both. just one hour a day won't let u lose your job....keep in touch
