Normally IOM/Embassy rely only on authorised test results which are done by them or panel doctors. In your case dont worry, TB spots will appear in your xray and then they will ask you for further tests like sputum test and an xray after 3 months, these are just to ensure that everything is fine. However do declare this thing to your doctor that you had been treated for TB in past. If all results are negative then dont worry you will pass medical test easily.

Goodluck
Actually I had bronchoscopy (which is very expensive and extreme analysis of tb) test for analysis my cultural test that result approx came in 60 days . So my question is if my old xray and recent xray which will done by immigration panel both are same means no change on spots , Have I need any further test or process .

if yes , then how much time it will take . how much delay will be present in my PR process .

Was that bronchoscopy done by IOM?

In case your old xray and recent xray (which will be done after 3 months) there is no change on spots then no further tests will be require by CIC.

This factor will not harm timeline of your application. In this case you can proceed with submission of your application and all other things will work in parallel while your medical will be on hold for 3 months.

Thank you for your reply .

Not by IOM, bronchoscopy is done by very popular and super specialist hospital .
Xray is also not by IOM , that is done by reputed hospitals .

gap between my 1st xray and second xray is approx 1 year .
and 3rd xray is done after 2 months of second xrays .

all there xrays are same .

So that means I don't need any further test ?

please suggest . Thanks in Advance .

No problem, actually I faced all this situation and had taken all unnecessary tension for that, so a friendly suggestion DONT WORRY :)

When you will visit IOM they will ask you that if you have any past treatment of TB or any other disease. Definitely your answer will be YES as you have a history so after that spots will also appear in your xray. IOM dont trust on outside reports or xrays so they will ask you for further tests in order to check active TB, you'll need to visit IOM for consecutive 3 days for sputum. After that they will give you a date with a gap of 3 months for another xray.

After second xray test they will compare your results and then proceed further.

I hope this clarifies. :)

Hi,

First of all please be patient now and stop worrying as in the end it'll be all fine.

Normally sputum results come in 2 months and they do need another xray after 3 months so you need to wait for 3 months, meanwhile you can continue with application submission.

and again dont worry at all, if its an inactive TB you'll pass your medical.
Hiya, thanks for the support, it is appreciated :)

However, my question was actually about timeframes from when the information is submitted. We have the sputum results and x ray back, and a respirology review is due next Friday. However how long might it be once we submit that information before we hear back? It is only the medical review that is holding us back from going on a temporary visa while we wait for the whole PR application to be processed (which we submitted in February)

Hi friends! Here’s our timeline:

May 8, 2017: created Express Entry profile
June 17, 2017: received Provincial Nomination
June 29, 2017: received Invitation to Apply
July 4, 2017: upfront medicals (my wife’s x-ray was clear, mine wasn’t)
July 9, 2017: Confirmation of Online Application Transmission
July 10, 2017: Acknowledgement of receipt
July 17-19, 2017: my sputum tests (1st set)
July 22, 2017: Start of treatment

I volunteered and was allowed by the panel physician to immediately begin my TB treatment outside, under the supervision of my preferred pulmonologist regardless of the sputum results. It’s basically a gamble on my part since by beginning treatment asap, even if my sputum results come out negative, I’d still need to finish my 6 month TB treatment. My motivation was, thinking if my sputum results came out positive after the 2 month wait time, it would be an additional 6 monthsd on our timeline to finish with the treatment, thus I felt it best that while I was undergoing my sputum tests, my treatment was running concurrently with it.

Sept 11-13, 2017: my sputum results (1st set - negative)
Sept 20-22, 2017: my sputum tests (2nd set)
October, 2017: my repeat x-ray (no changes)
Nov 15-17, 2017: my sputum results (2nd set - negative)
Nov 22-24, 2017: my sputum tests (3rd set)
Jan 17-19, 2018: my sputum results (3rd set - negative)
Jan 21, 2018: End of treatment
Jan 24, 2018: my repeat x-ray (no changes)
Feb 7, 2018: Medicals passed

We then received an email notice by Feb 15, 2017 that since my wife has been in close contact with someone who has active TB, she will also need to undergo further testing.

Feb 19, 2018: my wife’s PPD Skin Test (positive - We consulted our own pulmo and was advised that since TB in the Philippines is endemic, this test almost always comes out positive.)

Feb 19, 2018: my wife’s repeat x-ray (no changes - If her PPD Skin Test was negative earlier, she’d have been cleared outright and this repeat x-ray wouldn’t be needed anymore.)

Feb 21-23, 2018: my wife’s sputum tests (If her PPD Skin Test was negative earlier, she’d have been cleared outright and these sputum tests wouldn’t be needed anymore.)

Apr 23-25, 2018: my wife’s sputum results (negative)
May 1, 2018: PPR
May 2, 2018: received Medical Surveillance Form
May 5, 2018: Visa On Hand (expires July 8, 2018)

It was a relatively lengthy process in our case but if one follows everything as instructed, is never afraid to ask and clarify, checks both inbox and spam emails (my CIC designated email was set to notify on my phone in real time so I never miss out on anything just in case due to these emails being time sensitive) and never waver in their belief that everything will come to pass, I assure you it will all be worth it in the end.

We hope this answers a few of your questions and provides some useful information to those in a similar situation.

Hi friends,

I'm very depressed as it's been 1 year for my application and was hoping ppr to come in this month. But my medical expired May 10 and was asked for remedical. Unfortunately my chest seat came out abnormal and was asked to do sputum culture which was done on April 30. My sputum smear test is negative. I want to know do they wait for culture result too or they can make a decision on sputum smear test which is negative? Plz reply

That is super helpful thank you! So it was about 2 weeks between your final x ray and medicals passing? Was that for the medical being officially passed as part of PR?

Good Morning,

I was reading the forum and I am hoping someone can help me with my questions.
In our case, I am the main applicant. My medicals passed last September 2017. My Wife however was diagnosed with kidney tuberculosis and she is currently undergoing medical treatment. They informed us that it will take us 9 months to complete my wife's treatment. I'm hoping after treatment is finished, we can proceed with our application. My main question is, Will they require me to retake to medicals test again? since my application is medicals is due to expire on august 2018? As soon as my wife's medical passed, will it update on the system right away? I appreciate your advise. God bless.

Kind regards,

Carlo
