Processing in Buenos Aires?

So.. hubby got an email today saying that the passport is ready with the visa in it AND he has to go pick it up at the embassy from monday to thursday.. BUT! He lives in Cordoba.. haha.. like if this wasnt already expensive now he has to go spend 1 day in the bus and 500 pesos for something they could have easily mailed to him.. no need to say we are not too happy about that email..

Yeah, it's crazy he has to go from Cordoba to BA just to pick it??? Doesn't he have any relative or friend in BA that can go pick it up for him?

lol no problem! I dont know what happens if you are here in Quebec.. Since hubby was always in Argentina during the process.. But check before how long it takes for the police certificate cause we got a surprise there.. and a nice guy who liked my french accent speaking spanish made us pass with an appointment between 2.. if not we would have wait like 2 months before to get the fingerprints done. Beside that do the medical exam at least 1 month before to send the package.. (thats my opinion..)

Dont be shy to ask me questions whenever you feel like it!

P.S. the first place i'll bring him to eat i think is at the restaurant Argentino in Montreal.. lol so he feels a bit like home here too ;D Hahaa

Hi rodriarano,

Yes, I believe you need to be in BA to get the visa in your passport.
I also believe that even if you could fedex our passport to BA, you need to re-enter Canada with your new PR visa.. (I could be wrong).

We're planning on going back to BA in January and wait for the visa there. Since it says max 10 months on their website, hopefully by March I should get the visa.

Let me tell you my situation. I'm in Quebec with my quebecer fiancée (we're marrying next month), we are living in Quebec City (she studies in Université Laval). I'm with a tourist visa so I'm not working nor studying

So, once we are married and everything ready we send the application! If I need to go to BA for an interview (which we hope to waive) I'll go; if I need to go pick the passport in BA.. I'll have to go!

I just thought that they could ship it from BA to Canada (I think I read a case of someone applying in London and I understood she had got the passport mailed though I may be wrong!).

Uff.. I have so much work to do with all this, I'm just beginning!! So far I'll ask the Police Certificate (for which I'll have to go to Montreal, ça a l'air) and call the doctor for a rendezvous!!

Oh yeah I forgot about that.. we did all those things when I was in Argentina in like March so I dont know how it works if you do it from Canada.. we also got married in Argentina at the Registro Civil..

Hihi.. its a pretty long story actually! We met close to 8 years ago when I went to Miami (he was living there at that time with his family) We kinda fell in love at first sight! lol we spent all our time together and then I came back here.. (since I was like 16..) he called me the day I came back (which i thought he would never do, cause guys say nice things sometimes but dont always remember it! ) so we kept in touch by webcam and phone, sending each other letters (yeah yeah! real ones!!) lol He moved back to Argentina the same year for university. He asked for a tourist visa in 2005 but he got refused with not enough proof he would go back.. So in 2009 i decided i would not be scared and i left my job, work, appartment and booked my flight for 2 months.. It was like a dream come true when we saw each other again!! lol (no need to say that i extended my tickets for 1 month more.) when i came back we were wondering how to be together so we decided to get married next time i would go.. i made all the papers here before to leave (it was quite complicated..) and booked my second flight! lol I got there in January and on February 17 (1 year exactly after we met at the airport again) we got married! Le reste appartient à l'histoire!

He also never saw snow.. lol kinda scared for that.. :

Wow, we love your story héhé But you married in Feb 2010 and you sent the application more than one year after?
and when you say "i made all the papers here before to leave (it was quite complicated..)" what do you mean?

No we got married in February 2011! Sorry!

For the papers, I had to get my birth certificate to Ottawa for legalization... something like that. then i had to go to the embassy of Argentina in Mtl for another stamp who said it was real..lol thats why i said it was complicated..

Im from a small town but I used to live in Sherbrooke, Quebec and now Mtl.. lol.. cant put my feet down somewhere!

How did you guys meet by the way?

Oh, well, we met each other in London in 2009, we were both exchange students at the same school We travel together in Europe and we decided to continue the relationship. Then she came to Argentina for the summer 2010 (winter of Argentina), then she came back to visit me for two weeks in November 2010.. then we spent New Years in Disney.. then I came to Quebec for her graduation in April, and then when I graduated last July I came here and I'm here since that moment. Now we decided that is better to get married than waiting for the year and apply as conjoint.

We have so many things to prove our relationship. We have logs of Skype, we were sleeping with Skype connected everyday!! Can you believe? I guess you do Letters, gifts we sent, proves of the trips we made and the visits we made to each other, proves of when we met each other families and friends... everything!

Actually, how did you do to send all this things? Like the chat logs and stuff you printed some or what? and everything in plastic bags? I still cannot figure out how we'll ship that!!

Monday I'll call to the consulate in Montreal to see how it works for the Police Certificate, and also I'll ask for a rendezvous at the doctor here in Quebec.
