It is not. This looks more like acknowledgement of receipt from your local visa office. The pre-arrival services letter indicates that eligibility has been passed (relationship is genuine). When did you get this letter?
Thank you , So would this be my AOR 2 ? on October 20? or when this email was sent which was November 14th? Thank you for your reply :)

You're welcome! This would be officially AOR2, but the real one is October 20th, because that is when your VO started working on your file, even if that work was just taking a look at it.

Oh okay Wow , the whole time I thought my AOR was November 14, since I got that email in my GCKEY that day. BGC started processing JAN 22. When could I expect Pre- arrival or PPR ? :( Medical Passed, PCC and Schedule A all submitted.

It looks like you are at the end of the process now. Maybe you won't get the pre-arrival letter, since not everybody gets it. You may go straight to PPR. However background check can take from a few weeks to months. Mine took two weeks I believe, but for some people it takes more time. You shouldn't expect anything regarding dates for PPR or pre-arrival letter, but you can have an idea. I highly doubt it'll be more than a month from now until you get PPR, but can't know for sure.

:S Wow , yours took 2 weeks exact? Mine will be two weeks on Feb 05. I am praying I hear good news very soon. My husbands Background should not be so complicated because he is a refugee and protected person with UNHCR. And he doesn't have any employement history or anything. I hope it helps the BGC Process faster. But they can still take long because its a matter of an officer working on it. So I really hope I hear something this month. Fingers crossed. Thank you for the reply. :)

Yes, from the time it changed "we are processing your background check" to the time I got the request to take the medical exam. According to the manual, they only request a medical exam after the background check has come clean (this procedure is when you face an interview and pass it). Anyway, it must be easy, they just got a certificate from a private company that does the background check, so they probably just got a paper that said it was all clean and that was it. I've never been out of the country either, so that must have made it easier.

Wow so lucky! But my husbands medical was passed September 25, 2017. So it was done so in advance. Yeah let's see what happens next week. :)

MANILA VISA OFFICE.

My husband received the Pre Arrival Services Invitation on January 26 2018.

Our application was submitted June 26 2015
I was approved to sponsor him at the end of July, and his permanent resident application started processing on August 11.

His medical was on September 29 2017

Can somebody give a rough estimate on when we will get PPR?

His GC KEY says:

Application status: We are processing your application. We will send you a message when there is an update or if we need more information from you.

Review of eligibility: We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility

Review of medical results: You passed the medical exam.

Review of additional documents: The additional documents you provided have been uploaded.

Interview: You do not need an interview. We will send you a message if this changes.

Biometrics: We do not need your fingerprints. We will send you a message if this changes.

Background check: Your application is in progress. We will send you a message when we start your background check.

Hi @CarleyDT - was the app filed in June 2015 like you wrote, or did you mean June 2017?

Based on what I have been reading, Manila seems to send out the pre arrival letters sooner than most other VO’s. Again, based on the data from the forums, it looks like most people get DM and PPR very soon after the pre arrival letter.

Hopefully the end is soon! :)

Sorry... it was a miss type haha.
It was filed June 2017.

Does the pre arrival services letter mean my hubby passed eligibility?
Why send pre arrival to un eligible applicants, right?

Oh haha ok 2017 is much better! @CarleyDT

Yes, based on several posts that I’ve been reading, it seems very logical that eligibility has been passed. One user mentioned he asked for the notes and it said “elgibility passed” after he got the pre arrival letter.

Another user mentioned out of 500 only one was refused after getting the letter. So I think its a very positive sign! Please make sure you update us once you hear anything else. Let’s hope your PPR comes in weeks instead of months!

It’s been a month (today) for my husband and I since getting the pre arrival letter :)

Pre arrival services letter means eligibility is passed (relationship genuine). People can still get refused on medical, criminality, misrepresentation or background check grounds. However those cases are more rare, most applications are refused because the immigration officer thinks the relationship is not genuine. Usually, the visa offices figure out eligibility first and then the other ones. That is why sometimes people get refused after the pre arrival services letter.

@JulianaAndrew thank you for adding this information! I always wonder, wouldn’t they check security, misrepresentation and criminality before offering a pre arrivial letter? Seems a bit crazy to me :)

Im very curious about what they are looking for in the background check that takes sooooo long!
