Hello,

I submitted an inland spousal sponsorship application in May 2025 for my wife and son.
  • July 11, 2025: I was asked to update IMM5406, which I submitted the same day.
  • August 21, 2025: I received a request for an updated IMM5669, which I submitted on August 26.
  • August 28, 2025: I received the Acknowledgment of Receipt confirming my application was received, along with a biometrics fee request, which I paid the same day.
  • September 27, 2025: I received a pre-arrival services letter.
Since then, I have not received biometrics instructions (Biometrics Instruction Letter). I have also been unable to link the sponsorship application to my IRCC Secure Account.
I am wondering,
  1. Why I received a pre-arrival services letter even though my wife is applying through the inland stream. From my understanding, this letter is automatically issued once eligibility has been passed, and although it is normally for outland applicants, in my case it should mean the file is progressing positively.
  2. Whether I can use the Acknowledgment of Receipt to apply for an open work permit for my wife at this stage.
  3. What steps I should take regarding the missing biometrics instruction letter.

Thank you for your guidance.

I'll help with two questions.

1. This is a standard step with all applications.
2. Yes, as long as your spouse has valid status in Canada.

I recently called IRCC and was told to submit my biometrics receipt online via the webform, which I did. However, I received a strange automated response saying:

“You have reached our dedicated team for individuals affected by the crisis in Gaza and the West Bank. We have reviewed your enquiry and determined that it is not related to the crisis in Gaza and the West Bank.”

I’m puzzled why my inquiry was routed to this specific team since my message didn’t mention anything about the Gaza or West Bank crisis.

Also, I’m having trouble linking the application to the account. The agent told me the application should be linked to my wife’s account, but the account is under my email address, while the profile and application belong to my wife. She originally used my email to apply.

Could you help me understand why this might be happening and how to fix the account linking and biometrics receipt submission issue?

Thanks in advance!
