Hi All

I have got my PR in 2014. I was unable to land because of my wife pregnancy. I couldnt land in the stipulated time. From then on i was under an impression that my PR got invalid

But now when i tried applying for Visitor Visa, i got a reply from gc.ca which is given below

Will i be able to revoke my PR if i apply for PRTD

Please advise - V V URGENT

Ø After reviewing the available information, I have determined that you never officially lost your permanent resident status.

o If you wish to travel to Canada as a Temporary Resident, you can voluntarily renounce your permanent resident status by filling the attached form that you will find online at http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5782E.pdf

There is no fee associated with the renunciation process. Please send completed and signed IMM5782E, along with a copy of this request to BAGLR-IMMIGRATION@international.gc.ca

If you wish to travel to Canada as a permanent resident, you must apply for a Permanent Resident Travel Document [PRTD] and pay the applicable processing fee. You can find more information about residency determinations and applying for Permanent Resident Travel Documents on our websites at www.india.gc.ca and www.cic.gc.ca

In my view and others can comment If you have not met any residency requirement or even landed your only option now is to follow the renounce instructions given it is unlikely a PRTD application would succeed .

Following the renounce route will likely be quicker than applying for a PRTD and waiting for a decision that might eventually lead to PR being revoked possibly subject to appeal.

It does seem odd though if understanding your post that if you did not even complete a landing that you are in the system as a potential landed PR given a COPR carries a validity/ use by date.

Guys,

Request you to all to help me with replies!! I have applied my PRTD now with all the old docs from which i have got my PR in 2014. Is there a possibility for me to get my PRTD and is there a possibility that i can reach there and explain my stands to the immigration??
