CIC asked to resubmit photos for a new PR Card.

How long does it take for CIC to process the application after photos has been submitted?

Hello Sapguru,

I had the same issue and was asked to submit a new photo.I landed on 31st July 2017 and on Sept 21st i received an email to resubmit my photo as it was not matching to the standards which was been mentioned. So on Sept 25th i had resubmitted my photo and received CIC confirmation on 27th Sept.Usually it takes 60 days from the date of landing but since there is an issue with the photo you need to add another 60 days.I contacted CIC contact center on Oct 18th and they said right now they are sending PR cards who have landed on August 9th.Since i was asked to resubmit my photo my dates got changed to 27th Sept since that's the day the received my new photo. So my assumption is i would get my PR card on Nov last week or 1st week of Dec.Hope this helps you.

Thanks,
Sanith

Were you told to get the photos stamped by the photographer at back? Or any other special instructions told to be followed?

Can you please tell what else is mentioned in the letter like the time limit given to submit photographs and do you have to personally visit the office and submit the photos or you can send vis post?

Submit 2 photos and you need to get it stamped(address from where the photo was taken. If no stamp then hand written information is also fine) and put your DOB,full name and Date when the photo was taken(mostly from where you take the photo they will put the date)along with your form while submitting it back. This needs to be send within 30 days of the email received.Make sure the photo size is correct.. 50 mm wide X 70 mm high (2 inches wide x 2- 3/4 inches long) and sized so the height of the face measures between 31 mm (1- 1/4 inches) and 36 mm (1- 7/16 inches) from chin to crown of head (natural top of head).

The CIC agent had told me that there is separate queue for photo resubmission applications. So even the main queue is for Aug 9th landed immigrants, the photo resubmission could be 4 to 6 weeks later. You may call and confirm with CIC call center. Hope it helps.

So you had to go in person or could send it through post or courier?

Yes i have called and confirmed.Like i stated earlier my landing was date was July 31st so as per CIC(60 days) i should get my PR card by Sept last week or Oct 1st week( if there are no issues with your photo)But since my photo was inappropriate in size it would take another 60 days,So I'm hoping that i would get it by Nov last or Dec 1st week.

You are the primary applicant so they would ask you your UCI number which would be in your COPR. I'm sure you when you applied for your family they would have come as dependent. So just CIC call center guys would let you know the details of your other family member only if you are primary applicant.I'm not too sure which number to call if you are outside Canada.

Hi, We did a soft landing on 15th Aug 2017 and returned from Canada within 10 days without having our PR card.
After 50 days (5th Oct) we got an email request from CIC to resubmit our photographs.
Also in the email it was mentioned that if the new photos were not submitted within 30 days, out PR Card Application will be cancelled.
So we mailed the new set of photos on 7th October via normal post as the recipient address was Post Box address.

I have two concerns on this issue.
1. How do we check whether the new set of photos reached at the PR Card application processing facility in Nova Scotia and what is the status of the PR Card Application. As we have resubmitted the photos on 7th October, we have not received any email confirmation of the same from CIC. :(
2. If photos were not delivered at the PR Card processing facility within 30 days, then will our PR status be active or not?
(I believe only our PR Card Application will be cancelled and not the Permanent Resident status.)

We tried to contact the CIC call center couple of times everyday, but all the time we get the same automated answer saying all the agents are busy and we can try again after some time.

1) Always make sure when you send a courier to CIC you take those which provide you with a tracking number(although it will cost $5-$10 extra but its worth than the extra headache)
2)If you have submitted your photo on 7th Oct and if the photo size are correct then i would say it would reach your mailing address whichever you provided while landing by end of Jan or by 3rd week of Feb.(assuming Christmas holidays etc)
3)You may send your photo again to the same address but this time select courier which provides you tracking number. There is no harm re-sending photos. Atleast you will be in peace.
