Hi everyone

I applied for PR in June 2025 and I just got one email saying my application has been recieved with temp application number.
After that till than now I don’t get any biometric letter as well.

Just to know is this normal they don’t need biometric or what could be the reason as it’s been about to year.

IRCC sometimes delays opening files, but a full year without AOR is unusually long unless there’s a backlog or issue and If you had a lawyer/consultant confirm they didn’t receive AOR on your behalf, If not, our suggestions are use the web form case specific enquiry or call IRCC.

I did call them but they said your file still not in process we will tell you when we need anything.

So what should I do

Before you get Biometric Instruction Letter you are supposed to receive Permanent Application Number/AOR, then they will request your Biometric if they require it otherwise they will use your old Biometric.
I am surprised you have not received AOR till this date. Did you apply on you own or do you have representative? Check your email inbox and spam. If you have not received AOR email call IRCC.
I applied through my lawyer from Quebec. But am in Alberta.

Next Friday will mark 7 months since I’ve been waiting for my permanent AOR. I received a temporary AOR (XG number) in December 2025.

When can I expect to receive the official AOR? Has anyone recently received theirs, and if so, when did you apply?

I am a single applicant living in Alberta.

You can escalate this by contacting your local MP to inquire on your behalf, as this sometimes results in clearer information from IRCC.

How will that work ?
Can you guide as I don’t have any idea about who is MP

And recieved temp application letter in Sep 2025

Should I start count after Sep 2025 or June 2025 ?

IA I hope IA will hear soon good news IA

Go to the official Parliament of Canada website https://www.ourcommons.ca/en and use your postal code in Alberta to find your assigned representative.

Then contact your local MP in Alberta, this should be based on where you currently live, not the mailing or processing address on your application (even if it lists Quebec). There’s no need to book a meeting; each MP has an email address and a constituency office phone number.

You can simply email them outlining your concern. Most MP offices reply within a few days to a few weeks, and they will usually follow up with IRCC, response and any next steps.
