Hello everyone,
It has now been 23 months since I submitted my PR application under the Protected Person class.
I recently spoke with my Member of Parliament (MP), and their office shared some internal notes with me.
It has now been 8 months since I received my eligibility approval letter.
I also contacted IRCC directly, and they confirmed that my application is currently in the background check stage.
According to the IRCC website, the estimated processing time for this application stream is currently 28 months.
Based on your experiences, how much longer do you think I might need to wait?

please how did you contact MP? I sent a mail to IRCC but i only received the automatic response. Kindly share how you contacted MP Please. i submitted my application since 2024. Thank you.

Can someone please help me? I am waiting for 43 months for my PR as a protected person, I changed my province in between(from Ontario to Quebec). I got a ghost update in last March(it showed that my profile changed/updated) but didn’t get any news after that. I got another ghost update today, it showed the same thing (profile updated/changed) but now background check options say not applicable, I am really confused right now as I don’t know what is happening. Here is the full status of my application:

I also applied from Quebec and it's been exactly 42 months now and I haven't received any updates.
