PR application is stuck at Security assessment

I am also on the same situation. I don't know what's going on when we know there is nothing on our background that could affect our security check. I actually lodged my application last December 2023. Mine was worst! It's almost a year now. Everything is complete except for Security Check. =( The wait is really frustrating and I can't move on with things.

I have a question, I am very curious, I received a very generous job offer from a different employer, which was different from the employer I declared when I lodged my PR. Can I quit my current job now? I am holding an open work permit. Your answers will be very helpful.

Hi,

I received my PR ITA on Dec 2023 and submitted my documents on Feb 2024. I received my AOR on the same day. My medical and biometrics are also completed but it's been months and I haven't received the P1 email. I reached out to a local MP to get the status of my application and he shared the below update.
My spouse and child are also in the same application. None of us received COPR yet.

• The Criminality, Medical, and Eligibility assessments have all been successfully passed.
• The Security assessment is still in progress.
• There have been no new updates since our last communication.
• Please note that a processing time is not applicable due to the ongoing Security assessment.

I don't know what "Security assessment " is. Does anyone know what it means and how can I expedite this process by providing additional documents?

No, no updates. I have called IRCC like million times and same default response.

Can be for anyone who gets a flag in the system. There's very limited info no how SS is assigned to applicants, but the bottom of it is data that leads to flags which needs to be assessed further.

I received P1 email after 1.5 years of waiting. But i have stuck to another problem. Waiting for that problem to be resolved.

Did your Security Screening start 1.5 years ago or was it the date of AOR? Do you know at which point the status changed from Received by CBSA to In progress by CBSA?

No, i did not know that. From reading posts, forums and calling to IRCC agents, all i can concur is If you are stuck at background process or Security Screening, you can either wait or order GCMA or GCMS notes, whatever those called.
Look into the notes and see what it tells you. You can also work with an immigration person to check the details in the notes. maybe he can guide the next step. ordering gcms notes is the next feasible step. good luck, cannot further help than this.

You either have:
1. bg started but stuck in an intermediate step as the next step hasn't yet started
2. or you're in SS

No guessing would help here, file GCMS/CBSA notes to get a better idea.

I'm stuck , My AOR is 4 April, 2023, Security Check from 28 November 2023. Its deadly silence.
My MP did found out that is military verification but I dint go to regular army I was in civilian service helping disable persons.
They know all that, I did give them documentation even statement from the military but they are checking.
On SS im 17 moths. Total wait is over two years
