I choose Canada as country of residence and IMM5257 comes up.

Mine was totally new passport, so new study permit thus new TRV. it was not an extension. So this time, is our application new TRV or extension TRV?

That was why I called them up. God knows how long I waited for that call to go thru. Then they said choose your home country. Then I paid everything again

IMM5257E will only be generated when you click your home country. IMM5708 will be generated when Canada is chosen. Trust me I already did both and I only wasted money on the "inside" of Canada.
