Hi everyone,

Today after 11months I received an update/email from the immigration for an interview for a TRV application applied on 02 MAY 2017.

I applied from Lahore Pakistan coz I got married in Pakistan in February 2017. All the business & fianacial documents were provided with application were for my Australian business/TAX returns ETC ETC.

All my correspondence were from Pakistan thorough out the application period.

Today I received a letter for an interview ( and it clearly says
Name XXX
Address XXXX Pakistan.

But my interview is set to be in General Consulate of Canada in Sydney, Australia. It has to be done before 13th April 2018.

My question is I’m not in Australia atm I’m in Saudi from last 2 weeks for a family visit/performing Umrah.

I’m here on a 3 months visit visa(Single entry) and won’t be able to get to Sydney on or before 13th April 2018.

Is there a way to change the country for an interview ?

Can I do my interview in Saudi or sorroundings ?

Thanks

So, that explains the ghost updates. Don’t worry, send a CSE via email and walk into your nearest Canada consulate.

So is it possible ? I mean they won’t have any issue ?

Bcoz what I’m thinking interview can be done from anywhere coz there’s no condition on the TRV application that you have to do it from where you applied etc etc plus I have a valid reason I’m here on a (single entry visa) and I paid a lot for the Saudi visa.
If I leave I won’t be able to entre again

Don’t worry, as you don’t need appointment..just walkin into your nearest embassy

I call Canadian Embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and explained them the situation and they advice me to contact Sydney Visa office and tell them you are in Saudi and you can’t get to Sydney by 13th April thn they will send my file to Riyadh visa office.
What do you think. ?

Yes, that’s what. Raise a CSE to Sydney Visa office.

It's good to know that there's some progress on your file. That said, interviews are quite rare and requested only when IRCC is not convinced about the applicant or whether or not the visa should be granted.

In your case, it seems like even though background checks have been completed, IRCC is not convinced that you should be issued a TRV. Nonetheless, they are giving you an opportunity to meet the visa officer at the interview.

No, you simply cannot walk into any visa office. You won't even make it past the security.

You must immediately email (NOT CSE) the Sydney visa office. Do include your scanned Saudi visa + flight tickets + the email you received.... and request for the interview to be conducted by the Riyadh visa office.

You would also need a written confirmation from the Riyadh visa office with a scheduled appointment (or at least a scheduled date for the interview)

Thank you so much for replying @braynna
Well i dont know if i should be happy or stressed at this stage coz after almost an year they're still not satisfied. God knows what they wanna take out of my application... Im really over this now and super stressed/depressed. At this stage i was expecting PPR not a god damn Interview.

So, lets say interviews are not a good thing... coz they're still not convinced to issue me a TRV.... May i please know what exactly they ask in the interview ?

After contacting Riyadh office, Ive been advice to first contact sydney visa office and once they transfer my file to Riyadh then Riyadh visa office will contact me with further interview details..

I just checked my CIC account and (interview status is still the same (do not need an interview) but additional documents status had changed to
"Review of additional documents We need additional documents to continue processing your application. We will send you a message with more details."'

Really confusing coz the letter i received from IRCC is for the interview only no additional docs were required in the letter.

Relax, seriously. Don't get super stressed or super upset. It won't help if you're nervous or stressed out at the interview. Breathe deeply or meditate or have a cup of coffee/tea.... anything to calm you down.

I had advised some people on preparing for interviews. I will post the links a bit later. If it helps to cheer you up: Both those guys got their TRVs immediately after their interviews.

Fret not. Stress not. We're going to prepare you for the interview :)

Ignore the literal meaning of this. The 'additional documents' refers to the interview

These are standard instructions for an interview. Don't worry

Alright bryanna thank you so much... well you’ve been really helpful from the start :).

Yes, please do send me the links and help me prepare my interview.

I just talked to Riyadh visa office again and they asked me to send an email to Sydney office and they’ll contact the Riyadh visa office immediately.
