Hi everyone,
(Asking for someone)
I’m looking for advice regarding a Canadian visitor visa application for my parents, likely in 2026.

Background:
  • Parents are Pakistani citizens.
  • They may apply from Kuwait or Pakistan, depending on where they are residing at that time.
  • They previously had a Canadian visitor visa and visited Canada.
  • They have also travelled to Australia, the UK, Canada, and New Zealand. However they stayed in Australia for a year on and off for visiting another child.
  • However, they had a US visa refusal in the past.
  • Purpose would be to visit family in Canada for a temporary stay.
  • We would provide an invitation letter, proof of relationship, financial documents, travel history, and evidence of ties to their country of residence/home country.

My questions:
  1. Would applying in 2026 be advisable, or is it better to wait?
  2. How negatively could the previous US visa refusal affect the Canadian visitor visa application?
  3. Would staying long in Australia 1 year impact the visa?
  4. Would strong travel history to the UK/Australia/NZ/Canada help offset that concern?
  5. Is it better to apply from Kuwait if they have legal residence/employment/ties there, or from Pakistan?
  6. For parents visiting adult children in Canada, what documents usually make the application stronger?

I understand no one can predict approval, but I’d appreciate opinions from people who applied in similar situations or have experience with Canadian TRVs for parents.

Thanks!
