Nov applicant, over 20 months. Called to CIC just now. The agency said everything looks fine, all my documents were there, including the resume they requested this Feb., said they were just waiting for background verification. Told me to wait for another 4-6 weeks if nothing changes. Nothing I can do so far to help speed up the process.
Anyone knows what's "background verification" and who's doing that?

Don't know, searched on this forum and didn't have any clue about the resume thing, people got this request can be from any country, live in ON, AB, or BC, in all kinds of occupation. But can be sure that usually add about 6 months waiting time.
My OINP is master stream, doesn't require job offer. So my bridge permit is not closed, but one restriction is employment only within Ontario.

well all the provincial nominated has this restriction but i never heard about resume before, just a suggestion, your linked in or f.b and schedule A should match with ur resume

Called them yesterday and told security was done thats when my ECAS was updated to 8 lines.

My ecas was only 5 lines before. It went up to 8 which is unusual.

One of my known’s file is in additional verification. They sent his file from NS to back Vancouver office (nominated province BC) and asked for all A to Z documents again. (Required for federal). He was done with MR in January and also passed. But they asked for it again. Like all documents. And also asked him to show the funds 20k to 25k. I think his file is in additional verification. Im not sure if its same for everyone. And they gave him 30 days to submit all required documents so that they can make decision on his file. This email he received form Vancouver CIC office.

Is he/she is inside canada?
Also need to show proof of funds?

U must apply before first one expires otherwise u need to apply for restoration also. For online applications ircc website says 52 days processing time

ithink u can apply 90days before expiry and i applied 70days before i got it in 45 days and new work permit will be valid after your present work permit
